It was a beautiful sunny morning as a group of 12 cyclists headed out the N72 for the Group 4 Sunday spin. On through Cappoquinn and onto Lismore with a brief stop to sort a mechanical issue. Regrouping at the top of the hill we continued to the top of Tallow hill and turned right for Ballyduff. A swift descent into the village for the coffee and delicious cakes in Lottie & Ellie’s. Out in the sunshine for a quick photo before heading back to Lismore up the hill again but turning left this time for Deerpark. We were soon back in Cappoquin again and headed back to Dungarvan via Kilmolash and Ballinameela for an enjoyable winter spin of 77Km.

G2. On a fabulous morning for cycling 6 riders headed off out the Cappoquin Rd, lots of discussions about Monavugga and if the captain made up the name, alas Monavugga is a place up by The Cats bar, Joe has learned something new this weekend. On the climb up past monavugga at Knockaungarriff past tge hairpins, the crosswinds were so strong i think some were at 45degrees and poor Carol nearly did a Dorothy from the wizard of Oz. One rider turned back at tge vee and the remaining 5 continued on to Newcastle where fab coffee and cakes were had at the community centre. A brisk tailwind spin home had 90k done @ 30kph

Spin Report Group 5
On a bright sunny November morning 12 group 5 cyclists set off in 2 sextets. Heading east via coast road and Durrow onto 5 cross roads and onwards to Mahon Bridge.Sustained by the coffee break all made easy work of the short hills heading back west via Kilrossanty dropping back down to cross the N25 at Downey s Cross and back to the coast road home. A nifty 50k at 20k/hr had everyone back for an early lunch!

Saturday Spin:

Saturday Kilrush 9am - Five cross roads, Kilmac, Newtown, Crehana, Carrick, Rathgormack, (coffee stop), Clonea, Kilmac, Five cross roads, home. 95k.

If you are thinking of getting back out on the bike or want to enjoy a group cycle on a Saturday, now is a good time with a more relaxed pace for this time of year and routes with plenty of turn-off options with distances to suit all. 9 am at Kilrush. All welcome.

G5: 9am from Council office head east R675 via Ballinroad to Durrow onto five crossroads, Griffins garage to Mahon Bridge for coffee home via, Kilcomeragh, Kilrossanty Downeys cross Durrow and back R675.

G4: 9am at the Civic Offices
Dungarvan - Cappoquin - Lismore - Top of Tallow Hill - Ballyduff ☕️ Lismore - Deerpark - Tourin - Cappoquin - Kilmolash - Ballinameela - Dungarvan 80Km

Five group 4 cyclists turned out today on a windy morning. Up Colligan we teamed up up with one more, back from a spell in the sun, and into a strong head wind till we turned for Millstreet and onto Cappagh Cross. The Cappoquin road was also testing, but turning over the bridge there was some shelter eventually settling in Lismore for our coffee stop meeting other cylists there. On the bikes again and wind at our backs it was a faster spin back through Killmolash and Bog Road ,thinking of our colleagues in the w**e country. All in a nice 77k spin, home and dry.

G2: 4 cyclists congregated at the civic offices where a call was made to shorten the spin due to wind conditions and low numbers. The 4 headed off to old parish fighting the wind, the heavier riders doing bigger turns where gravity was also used to the benefit of the group. In to Ardmore and over to youghal bridge and up to knockanore, a regroup and then a chilly descent, over to Lismore for a quick coffee where we bumped in to a few diff groups, quick blast home with a well deserved tail wind 90k @ 28.5kph

G5 had six out today on their Youghal to Midleton spin. It was a blustery spin to Midleton, but plenty of rollups and banter made it easier. On reachig Midleton they headed to Bitesize for a lovely coffee break. Refreshed and the wind behind them they were back in Youghal in no time. Welcome home Stephanie many more G5 spins to look forward to. A lovely 50km at an average 19.

Group 3 spin report
It was a bright and breezy morning as 6 headed off on the planned route down to Bonmahon taking some nice back roads to Kill and Kilmacthomas where we had to change our coffee stop but we ended up with the best seats in the house and were treated like celebrities in The Coach House ☕️🍰
Back on the Greenway the route got readjusted and we ended up in Mahon bridge and onto Killrossanty and the jewel in the crown of our spin,the Mauma😁
Taking a slight detour in Kilbrien due to a tractor run we went cross country to the Clonmel road and then across via the Black Hill to Ballinameela and a nice tailwind home.
Overall a good solid and honest 98km over a nice varied route 👍🚴🏻‍♂️

An unforgettable day at the Shane o ' Brien memorial races. The numbers for rd 2 of the Munster league where huge with many in the Cycling community wanting to show there support and ❤️ for the o' Briens.
Charlie Kearns was in the U6 race with his sister Lizzie Kearns in the U8 race.
Rian Flavin was 5th in the U14 race.
William McNally did his first ever cx race today.
Ciara Flavin was 3rd in her first woman's senior cx race.
Ami Flavin was 5th in the same race.
Eamon Phelan was back at cx today in the support race.
Alan Lyons also made his come back today.
Marc Flavin didn't get to race after sustaining an injury during the warm up.
