** Match Report **

Raharney 4 - 0 Parkvilla

Our U12's took to the field this morning looking to book a place in the shield quarter finals. With 2nd place secured in the league, they looked to continue that form, but faced a daunting task against a Parkvilla side placed 4 divisions above them. The lads knew that only their best would do, and arrived to Higginstown confident.

The game started as expected, with Parkvilla moving the ball well, showing their level with some excellent ball control and movement. Raharney stuck to the task though, and showed their intent with some good work of their own. Parkvilla had the first effort on target, with Alex tipping over an effort from long range. We didn't have to wait long for the first goal though as Riley pounced on a move in the box and placed it home to give Raharney the lead. Stung by that, Parkvilla looked to get straight back into it but Noah and Tanush combined to clear the danger, before Raharney pushed forward and found Tobi in space to fire into the corner for number 2. The lads were the bouyed by the start and kept pressing, and not long after Tobi reacted first to claim the second ball from a keeper save to make it 3. Parkvilla looked to steady the ship and tried to force their way back, with both Alex and Ethan making last ditch tackles to clear danger. Blake and Jack combined well through the middle before Blake made way for Uesli who made good progress on the wing assisting TJ with defence, before the ref blew for half time.

Into the second half and Raharney had to do more defending as Parkvilla looked to fight their way back into it. Luke and Jamba were on their toes to clear the lines as Tom and Oisin tried to force their way upfield and relieve the pressure. Alex made a great stop before a spilled ball dropped at the get of the Parkvilla striker, but his effort clipped the post and spun away. As Parkvilla grew desperate, Raharney looked for any opportunity to break, and with Jack pulling the strings, so it proved as good work down the left found the ball moving to Tobi in the middle, who made the half meter to turn and fire into the bottom corner for number 4.

# # Dunshaughlin Youths FC Green 4–8 Raharney United AFC

Team: Rian, Luke, Harry, Mason, Rick & Ellis

Another fantastic performance from the lads as Raharney United came away with an impressive 8–4 victory over Dunshaughlin Youths FC Green! 💙🤍

From the very first whistle, Raharney looked sharp, organised and full of confidence.

Ellis started in goal and made some brilliant saves when called upon, while also showing great composure with the ball at his feet and distributing it superbly from the back. With Luke and Harry controlling the back line, Ellis was kept relatively quiet for large periods of the game — making his job a rather boring one! 😄

Luke opened the scoring with a superb team goal, finished off with a sublime **left-footed strike**. He continued to be a real threat throughout the game and finished with two goals.

Harry was outstanding, demanding the ball, taking players on and playing some excellent passes through the lines. He capped off another strong performance with a goal of his own.

In midfield, Rick and Mason worked tirelessly from box to box, constantly giving options on the break, creating opportunities and helping Raharney maintain control. Both were rewarded with two goals for Rick and one for Mason.

When Rian came on, he immediately brought huge energy to the team. Racing around the pitch, putting the opposition under pressure, making solid tackles and showing great awareness with his runs and passing. Rian was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet himself — although his dad was probably delighted to save a few euros! 😂

Ellis also got himself on the scoresheet with **two goals**, showing that his talents certainly aren't limited to keeping the ball out of the net!

** Match Report **

East Meath 0 - 6 Raharney United

Our U12's made the long trip out to Laytown this afternoon for an early afternoon kickoff. This would be the first meeting of the sides, and the nice sea breeze greeted the teams.

Raharney wanted to show attacking intent from the go, and this was duly delivered as a nice passage of play found Riley in space to push into the box and fire into the corner inside the first minute. A good start, and the momentum continued as the lads looked to create at any opportunity. East Meath found it hard to get a foothold as Raharney continued to dominate and looked to pe*****te the hosts defence at every opportunity, with Tobi and Riley both looking dangerous. As the half went on, Raharney added goals from Uesli, Noah and Jamie as they played some great attacking football. The score could have been more only for some spectacular stops from the hosts goalkeeper.

Into the second half and the press continued as Raharney laid siege to the goal. A change in our goalkeeper put Alex outfield and Tobi in as netminder, but that didn't halt the momentum as Raharney added goals from Jack and a second from Jamie. Alex went close on a number of occasions, with the posts being struck twice. Noah almost doubled his tally, while Jamba and Blake also went close. At the other end Alex, Sam and Tanush kept out the threats from the hosts.

As the match ended, the lads were all smiles coming off the field after an impressive win.

A special mention to the East Meath goalkeeper today, who despite the score had an absolute brilliant day in nets, with some flying saves draw rounds of applause from the watching crowd. One to watch for sure.

** Match Report **

Raharney United 1 - 1 Aston Celtic

Our U12's continued their season today with a home game in Higginstown. Second hosted first as we welcomed Aston Celtic for a top of the table clash, and the weather was favourable with clear skies and a nice breeze.

Anyone who anticipated a cagey opening was in for a surprise as both sides went at it from the opening whistle. Tough tackles flew in as midfields battled, and chances came as Riley went close with a header, while Celtic had chances of their own, with Alex in fine form in the Raharney goal. It was Raharney who took the lead when a cross into the box found Riley at the back post to power his header home. Celtic thought the equaliser was coming when the striker was put through 1 on 1, only for Alex to produce a brilliant stop to tip it around the post. But with 2 minutes to go, the Aston striker was put through and this time made no mistake.

Into the second half and the frenetic pace continued, the troublesome Aston striker again went in 1 on 1, only to flash his shot wide, whilst at the other end Noah and Jack fired close, Riley had a rocket tipped over the bar, and Alex displayed quick feet to dance past defenders, and flick the ball deftly over the advancing keeper, only for the ball to bounce back of the crossbar and back into the keepers arms.

At the final whistle, a round of applause from the watching crowd showed the appreciation for the teams in what was a fantastic game, and a great advertisement for both clubs.

Raharney stay second, with 1 game left in the league this season.

Superior Shelving and Racking Division 4

Rahareny United 6 v Cootehill Harps 0

The seniors were in action Sunday morning at home against Cavan side cootehill ,we played them twice last year and both games were close. Going into the game Raharney have been in great form winning the last four and with star striker David Borda looking to keep pressure on the leagues top goalscorer and he certainly didn’t disappoint.

Raharney got after the away team straight away and after four minutes Andy Evans broke down the wing and found Sean Sweeney who smashed home to make it one nil. Soon after David took the game by storm. First with an assist for Jack hall then going onto scoring the next four goals, every player put a shift in today and the lads showed why they are now a real threat for a promotion slot.

While we had a great result today all our thoughts were with friends and family of Kinnegad juniors player Craig tallon who sadly passed away during the week.

Ballycane 0 Raharney 0

Raharney United travelled to league leaders Ballycane for a first versus third clash.

The home side made the brighter start and almost took an early lead when a superb through ball released Keelan Noone. Bearing down on goal, he looked certain to score, but Adrian Rapacki raced from his line to produce a magnificent one-on-one save and keep the sides level. That proved to be the only chance of a fiercely contested first half.

Ballycane emerged after the break knowing three points were crucial to their title ambitions, but they were met by a disciplined, organised and tireless Raharney side. The visitors defended superbly, frustrating the league leaders at every turn and forcing them to rely on long-range efforts, all of which were comfortably dealt with by the assured Rapacki.

While Ballycane, with Jamie Gray pulling the strings, searched relentlessly for a breakthrough, Raharney always looked dangerous on the counter. They came agonisingly close to snatching all three points when Michael Loran threaded a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Noel Corroon, but with the goal at his mercy, Corroon's effort drifted inches wide from ten yards.

It was a tremendous defensive display from Raharney, earning a deserved point against the league leaders. Barry Kelly and David Sullivan were immense in midfield, covering every blade of grass, while centre-back John O'Gorman delivered a flawless performance, marshalling the defence with composure and authority.

For Ballycane, Jamie Gray was their standout performer, with John Higgins also impressing in a hard-fought contest that showcased two of the league's strongest sides.

Dunshaughlin Youths 1
Raharney Utd 1

First Half:

We travelled to Dunshaughlin Youths for our first away game of the season.

The ladies started brightly and were moving the ball well from our defence to attack. We had a couple of opportunities to put ourselves ahead before Dunshaughlin capitalised on a error to open the scoring on 30mins.
We regrouped and pushed for the equaliser before half time but the Dunshaughlin GK and defence stayed strong to take the 1-0 at halftime.

Second Half:
From the start of the second half we were again creating some excellent opportunities with some brilliant saves from Dunshaughlin goalkeeper keeping us from equalising.
With 10mins to Erica equalised with a excellent worked goal to bring the sides level.
We looked to go for the winning goal but with time running out it wasnt to be with both sides sharing the points.

Last night we said farewell to Amy who came in to play with us over the summer months. Amy returns to America for college leaving tomorrow. Safe journey Amy and thank you from us all for being part of the team

Raharney United 4 v Ballyhaise Celtic 0

Another outstanding performance from our lads this morning as they continued their impressive run of form and closed the gap on third place in the table.

Playing into a strong wind in the first half, it took a little time to settle into the game, but the breakthrough came just before the interval. Vlad beat his full-back before cutting inside and picking out Jack Hall, who made no mistake with a powerful finish past the goalkeeper to give us a deserved 1-0 lead.

With the wind in our favour after the break, the lads stepped up another level. Jimmy Murphy provided the perfect platform from goal with his composed distribution, while Alfie Armstrong and Evan Hamilton consistently looked to play through the middle and drive the team forward. In midfield, Jamie Greville, Kacper Zabinski and Sean Ruby controlled the game with a disciplined and energetic display.

The second goal came after a superb run from Alfie Armstrong, who carried the ball the length of the pitch before pulling it back for Andy Evans to calmly finish. Following a Ballyhaise Celtic red card, Alfie got on the scoresheet himself with a well-taken finish to make it 3-0, before Luke Corless capped off an excellent team performance by adding a fourth.

A thoroughly deserved victory built on hard work, quality football and a fantastic team effort from start to finish. Well done to all the lads—another big three points and the momentum keeps building! 💙⚽
