Match report

Torro v Raharney United

Tonights game saw us travel to the mdl grounds to face Torro for the first time. Lads took some time to get going but we found ourselves ahead at the break with a great finish from Ben.At half time we talked about just moving the ball a bit quicker and the lads responded.
Ryan and Ollie solid in defence with keeper Casey gave our attacking lads the licence to kick on another two quality goals from Ben and then Eoin came up with another fantastic finish. Theo finished the game off for Raharney.
Paddy and Leo in the middle of the park were fantastic.
One player stood out tonight was man of the match Darragh walakira absolutely outstanding in the second half .

Raharney 4 - 2 Oldcastle

Our U12's continued their league campaign today with a home fixture against Oldcastle. A wet and misty morning set the scene as Raharney started brightly with Riley causing trouble for the visiting defence early on. Jack pulled the strings in the middle as both Riley and Jamie went close before Raharney eventually took the lead. A second soon followed, before Oldcastle pulled one back from a corner. Raharney continued to dominate through the half, and pulled further ahead before going into half time 4 - 1 to the good.

The second half saw a bit of a turn, as Oldcastle came into it more, causing some problems for the Raharney defence. Tanush, Alex and Ethan were kept busy in defence, while up front the lads kept trying to extend the lead. Tobi went close up front, while Alex made some good stops in goal to keep the lead at 3. As the half looked to close out, a speculative through ball found the Oldcastle striker in what looked like an offside position, but the whistle didn't sound and the striker made no mistake in finding the net. The final whistle sounded soon after, and the lads can be happy with a good result.

Goals today came from Riley, Uesli, Colin and Alex.

Today's Squad: Tobi, Alex F, Tanush, Ethan, Jack, Blake, Riley, Uesli, Jamie, Carley, Sam, Alex M, Filip, Colin, TJ.

Special mention to Noah who continues to support the guys from the sideline, as he continues his rehab from injury. Everyone is looking forward to seeing Noah return to playing when he is ready.

Raharney Utd 4 Drogheda Utd 6

We started our first league game of the season last night at home to Drogheda Utd.

First Half.
The ladies started the game with plenty of possession and forcing Drogheda back into their own half with some brilliant attacking play. Drogheda managed to break out to score the first goal of the game.
Raharney ladies wouldn't let this affect them and went back on the attack looking for the equaliser and it duly came with a goal from Aoibheann who was proving a constant danger on the left wing.
The first half continued as it began with two teams playing some brilliant open attacking football, the first 45 mins finishing 3-3 with another goal from Aoibheann and Ciara Kelly also adding to the score board.
During half time the ladies were in great spirits and looking forward to the restart.

Second Half
As the second half started we were caught by two quick goals by Drogheda which left us a bit of a mountain to climb but the girls refused to give up and kept their attacking play. Unfortunately we conceded another after dominating large parts of the second half. Again these ladies refused to throw in the towel, we scored our fourth goal courtesy of Laoise after to reduce the deficit to two with about 5mins left. Unfortunately we ran out of time to push for another goal and put the Drogheda team under pressure.

We couldn't be more proud of what these ladies produced on the pitch yesterday evening.
A superb team performance with 4 excellent team worked goals and unlucky not to have added another couple.

Team

** Match Report U12's **

Raharney United 6 - 1 Duleek

Our U12's continued their inaugural campaign with a home game this morning against Duleek. A beautiful morning greeted the teams, and Raharney started brightly looking to move the ball quickly. Some early half chances came and went before Raharney took the lead, with Jamie finishing well into the bottom corner. But Duleek soon leveled, when a defensive error allowed the striker to latch on and bundle the ball home, despite the desperate attempts of the lads to keep it out. Raharney soon restored their lead though, as Riley found the net with his first for the club. Soon afterwards he doubled that tally, with another fine finish. Half time arrived, and the lads cooled down before heading back out for the second half.
The second half continued in much the same way as the first, with Raharney controlling much of the play as Duleek tried to fight their way back into it. Jack found the net to make it 4, and Raharney's defence continued to protect the goal with some great defending. As legs tired, Jack found the net again with a long through ball which evaded everyone before ending up in the back of the net, and Jamie found time for one more before the final whistle sounded.
A good performance all round, a well deserved win that started from the back, with a very controlled defensive performance from the back 4, and the midfield and forward lines and bench all playing their part.

Today's Squad: Tobi, TJ, Tanush, Sam, Alex F, Jack, Uesli, Riley, Jamie, Carley, Tom, Filip, Colin.
