Happy Easter to one and all. I have news in relation to the golf course. There are members, past members, out there who wish to open the golf course again. These member have been in contact with Castleisland members and the feedback is very good (The Castleisland members may be willing to join killorglin in order to increase numbers to make this a viable venture).Them members have sent a letter by e mail to present day killorglin members. If you are interest in our attempt to re-open killorglin please private message me (Mike Ashe) or text me your email address to 087 1212378 and I will send the letter to you. Please don't be shy. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

The deadline for payment of the €100 levy is approaching fast. December 8th is the day. Have you paid your levy yet ?
You may pay it in the pro shop if you so wish. I can take debit/credit card details over the phone if this method is convenient for you.

New singles Matchplay champion here in killorglin golf club.
Young John McCarthy (3) defeated Shane Collins (6) , last years champion,on the 17th hole.
Congratulations John and commiserations to Shane.
The lads will meet again next Saturday in the Doubles Matchplay final.

News just in.
Shane Collins ( all on his own some ) has just defeated Paul Mckenna and Paul Twiss is the Gents Matchplay Doubles semi final.

Young John McCarthy booked his place into the Men's Singles Matchplay final. John defeated Ger Joy on the 17th hole to claim his opportunity to play Shane Collins in the final.

Our Christmas Hamper has been postponed due to the contineous rain. It has been provisionally booked in for next Sunday. Again arrive at the clubhouse by 9 and shot-gun start for 9.30.
Those wishing to play golf tomorrow may do so. The Men are hosting a 12 hole competition. Turkeys for the winners. €3 entry fee.

Still alot of activity in our club Matchplay.
Yesterday Shane Collins secured his place in the singles final. Shane defeated Dennis Bird. He is gun ho on defending his singles title. This morning Jer Joy defeated Timmy O'Neill on the 19th to advance to the singles semi final. Jer will face up to John McCarthy in the semi final.
In the doubles Matchplay this morning the same John McCarthy along with Alan Daly defeated Last year's captain, Eugene Kennedy and Bernard Jones to reach our doubles final. They await the game between Paul McKenna and Paul Twiss V Dave McMahon and (once again) Shane Collins.
