How we pushoff from the wall, be it to start or turn, we will leave the wall in a similar fashion.

ᕼOᗯ TO ᗪO IT :

1️⃣ - Hold on to the wall with one hand, eyes will be looking at the hand on the wall, and the other hand is directed to the other end. The feet will be even with the hips.

2️⃣ - Without pushing off, let go of the wall, raising the releasing hand over the shoulder. Allow your body to fall back into the water.

3️⃣ - Let go of the wall, lift the hand over the shoulder to meet the other hand in a streamline position, push off and rotate toward your stomach.

As adult swimmers new to this, the biggest challenge faced can be allowing yourself to fall back into the water (Step 2) and sink down under the surface. Practice Step 2, pausing and holding the released hand over your shoulder, ensure your eyes are looking up at that hand and really allow your body to fall back into the water and under the surface.

Happy practising 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♂️🧜

Well done to everyone who took part in this morning’s SFAM at Ballina Riverside Pool 🏊🏻‍♀️🏊🏻‍♂️

A fun morning, with every swimmer in the pool swimming a whopping 64 lengths and some beating previous personal best times 🔥

Big thanks to all the lane counters who helped out this morning and to Paddy, Lisa and all the lifeguards for their support 🙏

We had sun and showers and sunshowers, but most of all we had sunny smiles 😃 Congrats all 👏🏻🤩
