Blacks and Whites GAA Club

Blacks and Whites GAA Club Blacks and Whites GAA club is a rural GAA club from Skeoughvosteen in north Kilkenny. We have GAA teams from under 8 right up to adult teams.

The Blacks & Whites Club was founded in 1925. In its infancy the club was closely associated with one man, Tom Walsh from Courtnaboughla, Skeoughvosteen. Tom went to school locally and attended Pallaskenry college Limerick, where he played hurling and football with the college. On his return home together with Jim Brennan, Mick Moran, the Kelly’s, the Power’s, the Moylan’s and others founded the Blacks and Whites Club in 1925. Tom went on and became chairman of the Kilkenny County Board, Leinster Council and Vice President of Central Council of The G.A.A. The Tom Walsh Cup, the trophy presented to the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Champions anually, is presented in his memory. Tom also was Minister for Agriculture at the time of his death in 1952. On May 28th 1978, the Blacks & Whites opened its new grounds at Coolnabrone, Skeoughvosteen and named it Tom Walsh Park.

What a great evening in Tom Walsh Park!
Our minor girls battled hard against a strong Thomastown side and came out on top to secure a place in the County Final!!
Some great performances all over the pitch. Well done to all the girls and their management! Sights firmly set on County Final now!

🎉 THE BLACKS & WHITES WEEKLY LOTTO IS HERE! 🎉

Tonight we are delighted to launch something a little different — something that’s about having a bit of fun, being in with a chance of winning, and helping our club at the same time.

For as little as €2 a week, you can play our Weekly Lotto, with a €2,026 opening jackpot! 🍀

But for the lotto to really work for our hurling, camogie and juvenile community, we need everyone to get behind it. Every family, extended family, friends, neighbours, past players, supporters and anyone who wants to see our club continue to grow.

And we’re at a really exciting stage in that growth.

🏗️ Our current development is moving forward, with handover of the first phase just around the corner. Then we’re looking forward to getting started on the next phase — our new Community Gym.

These projects are a huge investment in the future of our hurling and camogie clubs, and our community, but they only happen with the support of everyone around us. The more people who get behind the lotto, the quicker we can continue to move these projects forward.

Rather than asking for another once-off contribution, this is a chance to play, support thia ongoing hard work and maybe win along the way.

If every family gets involved and encourages a few others to play too, we can make this something really special for our community.
