30 Years of Walking Together in Ballyhoura Country
The Ballyhoura Walking Festival and Joyce Brothers Music Festival return from 8–11 October 2026 for four days of walking, music, heritage, food, creativity and community across Ballyhoura Country.
This landmark year marks:
🥾 30 years of the Ballyhoura Walking Festival
🌿 40 years of Ballyhoura Fáilte and community tourism
🚵 20 years of the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails
Recognised as Ireland's longest-running community-led walking festival, the Ballyhoura Walking Festival will feature guided mountain hikes, heritage walks, nature experiences, family activities, photography, local food and creative events.
Running alongside it, the Joyce Brothers Music Festival will bring concerts, workshops, traditional music sessions, song, dance and performances to Kilfinane throughout the weekend.
The programme will also include the Creative Places Kilfinane Showcase, celebrating local creativity through exhibitions, workshops and community-led experiences.
With more than 40 events planned, there will be something for experienced hikers, families, music lovers, heritage enthusiasts and anyone looking to discover Ballyhoura Country.
