Mondello Park confirms Track Layout for Season Finale

Mondello Park, the promoters of the Irish Rallycross Championship , have today released a new track layout for the rallycross event on 23/24 May 2026 which will feature the final rounds of the PartsforCars.ie Irish Rallycross Championship and the second event for the 2026 5nationsbrx British Rallycross Championship.
The new track will feature a completely new start straight and use many of the previous rallycross sections but will be run in a counterclockwise direction. The new startline, which is past the ‘Hole in the Hedge’, will see competitors now make use of a new 15m wide section of tarmac all the way up to Campion corner, where instead of running through the traditional Rallycross1, competitors will turn right into the stadium section in Turn 2 which will showcase rallycross cars in a spectacular 4WD drift.
What follows is the Finish Straight which will mean that Mondello Park will take the mantle of being the fastest rallycross track in Europe. Speeds into Turn 3 at Southside will be phenomenal before the cars come under heavy braking for the left-right-left transition in Turns 3 and 4 onto the first section of loose.
The exit at Turn 5 will feature the optional joker lap now taken in the opposite direction to the previous layout but this time without the traditional chicane. Again expect spectacular 4WD drifts as the cars fight for traction on the Joker section before the merge back onto the Start Straight.

Mondello Park Managing Director, Roddy Greene stated “The new track will showcase rallycross at its best. Mondello Park has made a massive commitment to promote and grow the sport of rallycross in Ireland. The forthcoming event next week will see both Irish and British competitors benefit from a completely new layout, with fantastic drift corners and without doubt the longest straight of any rallycross track in the world.”

We have been contacted by Pamela Cochrane Thompson and the Cochrane family after Gareth Thompson's accident in HRCA qualifying last weekend.
Pamela would like to thank the Rescue Crew, the Marshals and everyone else that helped in the aftermath of the incident. Gareth is still in Tallaght hospital and is recovering slowly, but well.
She would also like to acknowledge the amazing help she was offered by the entire motorsport community this week.

Very well done to all and we wish Gareth a speedy recovery!

Well that’s the end of the first weekend of the ICCR 2026 season on the banks! 🏁

From today’s chief marshal Ruth Nugent - a huge thank you to everyone who came out to help today 🙌🏽 it was an eventful one and everyone did a brilliant job at managing everything as it happened.

Next up on the calendar for us is the Historic Festival on the 9th/10th of May 🏎️
