Just Dive In 🏊

I found it really interesting last Bank Holiday Monday watching & listening to everyone talk about getting into the 🌊

I noticed that only kids & 👴🏻👵🏻were jumping in without much complaining. Everyone else would just dip their feet in & let everyone know how cold it was & that they were not getting in❌

The kids always went in together & would make a fun game about it.

The 👴🏻👵🏻discussed how cold it was but also how great it felt once they were in & would swim quite far from the beach.

What came to my mind watching & listening to this was just like starting to focus on our health & fitness, dipping our feet into the water by trying a new class/program or diet & letting the feelings of change & unfamiliarity stop us from fully diving in never allows us to experience how amazingly beneficial they can be to our lives.

So let's take lessons from the younger & older generations.

-Make it fun & in a group setting

-Understand that it's going to be uncomfortable & take time to become routine but the juice is worth the squeeze.

I see a lot of this happening lately with the rise in popularity of HIIT classes & variations of Metcon classes.

Just like when your Doctor 👨‍⚕️ gives you a prescription that comes with given dosages that are appropriate for You❗️The same attention needs to be given to the following movements that easily spike your ❤️ rate & if not programmed properly can leave you panting on the floor in a pool of your own sweat 💦 for a long time .

Burpees, Thrusters , Kettlebell Swings, Box Jumps, Wallballs, Assualt Bike and the Prowler all are very potent by themselves & even more when mixed together. From Beginner to having years of training experience being mindful of this simple 💡 will make your training a lot safer, enjoyable & more sustainable.

Most people will need more Pulling movements in their training program compared to Pushing movements to strengthen their upper backs & improve their posture from so much sitting during the day.

3:1 Pulling to Pushing is a good Rule of 👍to use. Some of my favourite Pulling movements to use with clients are the following

Face-pulls✔️

Negative Ring Rows✔️

Single Arm Dumbbell Rows✔️
