Some fantastic results from the Leinster Juvenile Championships at the weekend, despite our very small entry numbers this year & the absolutely appalling weather conditions on Saturday.
Our Star of the Track was Ethan Bramhill who started his weekend with the 1500m on Saturday. He ran a fantastic race in torrential rain & fought all the way to the line finishing a very close second to take the U16 Boys Silver medal.
Ethan was back on Sunday for the 3K, his first year at this event. He led the U16 boys race from the start taking the Gold medal & setting a New Championship Best Performance of 9.07.92. Huge congratulations to Ethan on a top performance.
Chloe Hanley had a very busy weekend indeed, taking part in all four throws. Despite the awful conditions on Sat, Chloe brought home two medals with a Gold in the Javelin & a Bronze in the Shot Putt. Chloe was back on Sunday and brought home another Gold for the Hammer throw. Well done Chloe
One of the most unpleasant events to do in really wet conditions is the High jump, but Lyla Cherry Kinito didn't let landing on a sodden HJ mat deter her from 4th place & qualification for Nationals, where hopefully she will get better conditions.
Well done to Timothy & Naoise also for braving that awful weather on Saturday!
