Successful Day 2 in the NRC for the National Championships with wins in both the Novive 8+ and 4x+! Our Club 4+ A came away with a 3rd Place finish in what was a very tough final whilst our Club 4+ B crew narrowly missed out on a place in the final. Our Inter 2x had a great row and came 4th in their final. DULBC Alumni, Gill and Hazel, racing with Anna Liffey BC had a nail biting finish in the Inter 2- comin away with a win by a bow ball.

Yesterday, our Senior 4- had an impressive race, placing 3rd in their final. We look forward to another jam packed day of racing tomorrow with our Senior 8+, Senior 1x (Grace Healy), Inter 4+, Inter 1x (Grace Healy and Emma Moloney) and Club 8+ taking to the water and hopefully putting in some more amazing performances!

Over the last four weeks, seven members of our senior squad in collaboration with Dublin University Boat Club, Trinity Access Program bridge2college and Trinity College Dublin Sport ran the Rob Van Medsag TAP Rowing Camp.

The camp is open to all 4th and 5th year students in TAP linked schools and aims to inspire students on their journey to college, encourage them to pursue higher education and to teach them to row in a fun and safe environment. Our coaches had a great four weeks and hope they have inspired the next generation to achieve their goals.

Come down and support us in Front Square over the next few hours before we move to the boathouse for the night time shifts! It was great to have Provost Linda Doyle out showing her support for DULBC! Hopefully it will be clear skys from now until noon tomorrow as we near the half way milestone of our event. (Link to Donate - https://gofund.me/c9c8f519 )

London Met is always a highlight of the season and this year with two wins in the Academic 4+ we certainly had lots to celebrate! Grace Healy also had a great regatta making the 1x Championship A final on both Saturday and Sunday!

We had a great regatta and learned lots over the two days of racing in Dorney Lakes. Our next regatta will be Munster regatta which will be a great opportunity for our Novices to race in the NRC ahead of Cork Reggata and National Championships!

Congratulations to Captain Elect Sophia Mulvihill who was elected as captain for the 2023/24’ season at our AGM on May 29th.

Sophia has played an important role in the club as Vice Captain this year and we know that she will be an amazing captain next year.

Our AGM also saw the Jen and Kat Miller award being awarded to Juliet Byrne for her contributions to DULBC over her time in the club. Juliet’s positivity, commitment and hard work is an inspiration to the whole club and she is always there to lend a hand when needed.

We look forward to the remaining races this season and would like to take this opportunity to let you all know about our upcoming 24 Hour Ergathon event on June 12th in aid of Women’s Aid. Donations can be made through link in bio or on the day in Front Square!

Trinity Regatta is always one of the highlights of the season here in DULBC and this year was no different.

We had some amazing performances in a number of categories including the Senior 8+, Club 8+ and Club 4+. Our superstar, Grace, won the Inter 1x and our Novices had an amazing regatta bringing home wins in both the 8+ and 4x+.

We were fortunate enough to be able to add two new boats to our fleet, an Empacher 4+, Harvest Bow, and a Filippi 2-, 76’ Ladies.

We would like to thank all alumni and friends of DULBC who attended the regatta and for all your support and kindness so far this season. We now look forward to an even more exciting season ahead. Our next regatta will be Dublin Metropolitan Regatta held in Blessington Lakes on Saturday May 27th and hope to see you all there.
