Summer camp season is just around the corner and we can't wait for another summer of adventures in the woods and on the beach.

From bushcraft and den building to surfing, beach games, nature exploration and crafts, or outdoor challenges, We've got heaps planned, making sure every child has the chance to explore, create, challenge themselves, and have lots fun in nature.

Our aim is simple, get kids outdoors, having fun, trying new things, and making memories they'll be talking about long after summer is over.

Thanks a million to everyone who has booked already. Some camps have already filled, so if you're thinking of booking a spot, now is the time.

We can't wait to get going and see all the kids back in the woods and on the water again!

The last two weeks have been the busiest we've had since starting, with school groups joining us for all sorts of adventures across the woods and beaches of Mayo and Sligo.

We've welcomed junior classes for beach days, groups enjoying surf and beach activity days, and woodland adventures for all ages filled with impressive den builds, teamwork challenges, crafts, exploration, and plenty of wild fun, with lots of opportunities for kids to simply be kids.

It's been a huge pleasure to spend time with so many great children and their teachers, and we're incredibly grateful for all the support and kind words from the schools.

It's been lovely to see so many children and teachers embracing the outdoors, trying new things, getting stuck into activities, and having plenty of fun along the way. One of the things we really loved was seeing the teachers getting stuck in too!

Thanks a million to everyone who joined us.

The next two weeks are shaping up to be just as busy as we become a bit more mobile, delivering sessions in schools and other locations throughout the Northwest.

After that, we'll be straight into our summer camps, and we can't wait for another season of adventures, roll on muddy boots and sandy toes!

Achill - Croaghaun Hike this Saturday 2nd May.

Starting at the iconic Keem bay we will hike to stand on top of the highest sea cliffs in Ireland, this area is truly amazing and even more special when viewed from above. This area is also packed with history and stories you’ll hear all about along the way.

This is a challenging hike of 8.5km taking around 5 hours, good fitness, kit and boots needed.

These views can’t be seen every year (it’s Ireland and it’s cloudy) but when it’s visible, it’s unreal!

From the ancient carvings at the Boheh Stone, the setting sun appears and rolls down the slope of Croagh Patrick.

The alignment lasts for a short time a few days either side of 18th April and 24th August.

Here among some of the oldest stone art in the country, the people of Ireland honoured the rolling sun in 3500bc, and the views haven’t changed since then!

Scattered across the side of Croaghaun on Achill Island are the remains of a RAF Halifax Bomber that came down in a tragic accident in 1950.
The repurposed Bomber that was returning from a meterlogical survey came down in thick fog with all 8 crew members losing thier lifes.
One of a number of crashes occuring around this coast near this time.

Warmer days are coming so the wellies can come off for our stream visits in the woods!

Any time we spend at the streams is always such a winner for the kids, wrapped up and in wellies or gently walking barefoot through the water to balancing on logs with the water beneath!
It's never too long before they start to ask about building rafts, some kids like to learn some knots, add flags or sails and decorate a ships captain, while others might opt for a quick and simple log canoe style, either one gives lots of opportuinity for fun learning and savage excitment when we set them off below the bridges and run round to intercept them on the far side.

Spending just a little time here and the exporation kicks in. Jars, magnifying glasses, scopes and ID sheets come out, opening up so much conversation around biodiversity and the importance of our waterways, big and small the excitement is real when they encounter their first creatures of the stream..

What looks like messing about is so much more. It's grounding, calming, and learning where the stream becomes the teacher!

Can't wait for more of these days!
