The Goode School of Dance

The Goode School of Dance The Goode School of Dance was established in 1989 by Rachel Goode and currently employs four teaching staff, and trains students from 3- advanced.

The Goode School of Dance was established in 1989 by Rachel Goode and trains students in Classical Ballet and Modern Theatre Jazz from 3 years old. Classes are held in a friendly atmosphere encouraging good posture, confidence, musicality, creativity and a love of Dance. The School produces a biennial show which is performed in thePavilion Theatre and also holds a summer school every year with the highlight being the finale show. The school encourages students to take grade and vocational exams both in Ballet and Modern Jazz. Exams give the student a great sense of achievement. Many of Rachel’s students have successfully auditioned to continue their dance training in full-time schools in London and Dublin. The school has also won Best Dance Group, Junior Cup and has come first in the duet category at the Irish National Dance Awards. Her school has also performed many times in the Olympia & Pavilion Theatres, Dublin, the Town Hall Theatre & Leisureland, Galway and the Mermaid Arts Centre, Co Wicklow. Rachel began dancing with Vonnie Goulding and continued with Cynthia O’Dunlaing. She furthered her training with Dublin City Ballet and then won an Irish Arts Council scholarship to train at the Ballet Rambert, London. She danced professionally in London before returning to Ireland to open her school. She is a fully qualified teacher of the Royal Academy of Dancing.

🏆 Emma Hayward
Dance Educator Award

Since opening our doors in 1989, our school has always been about so much more than learning steps. It is about nurturing young dancers, building confidence, developing artistry and technique, and creating a lifelong love of dance.

To be recognised for both the training we provide today and the legacy built over so many years is incredibly special.

I’m especially proud to see Emma Hayward recognised for her contribution to dance education and to the generations of young dancers she continues to inspire. ❤️

A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers, dancers and families — past and present. You have all been part of our story.

And thank you to Dance Awards Ireland® for continuing to recognise and celebrate dance education across Ireland.

Here’s to 2026! 🥂🩰✨
