🏀2026 Primary Schools Basketball Blitz 🏀
We had a great day last Tuesday 14th April at Gort Community Centre hosting the annual Primary Schools Basketball Blitz.
10 schools from south Galway and north Clare took part in a jam-packed day of basketball which saw Lurga NS come out on top in the final after a close game with Kiltartan NS.
There was a great exhibition of basketball skills seen from all pupils involved, which we hope to see continue in our club and into Gort CS once these students arrive for their secondary school education.
Well done to all involved in organising, refereeing and managing, especially the group of TY students from Gort Community School .
Thanks also to Giblins trophies for the medals and MVP awards.
It was a tough decision but Boys MVP went to Éanna Forde (Kiltartan NS) and Girls MVP went to Ciara McGuane (Lurga NS). 🏆
Well done to everyone who took part and to the teachers and SNAs who brought their teams on the day. Special mention to Ms Doherty from Kiltiernan NS who won the Teachers Hot Seat 🔥🪑
