🏐What a fantastic evening at the County LGFA Skills Day in Wexford COE!
The girls had a brilliant time, playing two matches, receiving a football and skills booklet, collecting autographs, and getting the opportunity to meet some of the stars of our county teams.
A huge thank you to the county board for organising such a memorable event. It was wonderful to see the girls playing some great football and enjoying the game in such a fun and positive environment.
A special shout-out to the First Whistlers who officiated the games and did a fantastic job.
An evening full of football, smiles, autographs, and lasting memories. Well done to everyone involved! 💜💛🇳🇬

Brendan Sheehan 💚🤍

Brendan was the very definition of a Naomh Éanna man. His contribution to our club over many decades was immense and touched every aspect of club life.

As a player, Brendan proudly wore the Naomh Éanna jersey and was a talented and committed player who gave great service to the club throughout his playing years. His passion for Naomh Éanna was evident both on and off the field, and that commitment continued long after his playing days had ended.

As Club Secretary for many years, Brendan worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of Naomh Éanna. He was instrumental in organising and promoting the club lotto, served with distinction as a committee member, and represented the club proudly as a County Board delegate.

Brendan also gave generously of his time on the playing fields, serving as a selector with numerous teams and helping to develop generations of Naomh Éanna players. His commitment to player development was particularly evident through the Street Leagues in Garden City, which he organised and ran for many years. Countless children took part under Brendan’s guidance, with many going on to represent the club at all levels. The memories, friendships and love of Gaelic games that grew from those leagues are a lasting part of his legacy.

A great supporter of every club event, Brendan was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. He was a friend to many, a familiar face around the club, and someone whose dedication, warmth and love for Naomh Éanna were evident to all who knew him.

Brendan's passing leaves a great void in our club community. His legacy lives on in the generations of players he encouraged, the countless hours he devoted to the club, and the enduring spirit of service he embodied throughout his life.

Naomh Éanna has lost one of its finest servants and truest supporters. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

We send our deepest sympathies to Kate, Deirdre, Colm, Eimear, his beloved grandchildren, daughter in-law Clare, sons in-law Paddy and Declan, brother Joe and his extended family and friends.

Yesterday we had our annual Jim Woods Football Tournament and what a fantastic day of football it was. A huge thank you to all those teams who took part and their coaches. You represented your clubs brilliantly on the day.

A huge thank you all those volunteers who helped out on the day and the night before getting the pitch ready. None of this would have been possible without your help.

To the coaches who dedicated their time to the tournament and throughout the year with the U10s thank you for your hard work work and dedication. Memories are made for a lifetime on days like yesterday for our future stars.

To John Cullen our piper who also adds to the atmosphere of the day, thank you for your time and commitment year on year.

To the Woods Family for your constant support, thank you for allowing us to honour a great Club man.

A special mention to Tom Funge who organised our brilliant referees on the day, some might say the hardest job of the day, ye were all excellent in the middle of the field and will need to get a mention- Club Footballers, Rory Tubritt, Luke Darley, Cian Browne, Dylan Cooke Leonard, Énán Quinlan and to Tommy Sheridan, Kevin Morris and Eamon Doyle also.

We couldn't go without calling out our top referee of the day Rhíona Sheridan. Definitely got the big calls right and we may see more of her in the middle of the field in the future.

Thanks to Kevin FitzFotos for capturing some fabulous photos before heading off to watch his beloved Laois take home home the Joe McDonagh Cup!

Thank you to Mick Molloy, South East Natural Slate and Salvage who sponsored our medals on the day. Thank you for your generosity.

Last but not least to our own players. You were asked today to be on your best behaviour and to show respect to all involved. All we can say is that you represented the club, yourselves, families and coaches exceptionally today and we couldn't be prouder of you all 💚🤍
