Trimming fairways with the Trimax , such a versatile machine, we normally cut the fairways with designated fairways mower , but following our recent fairways top dressing we use the Trimax to save the Cylinder mowers from sand/ small stones damage , also to cut the longer stalk grasses that shoot up at this time of the year and also to help roll in small stones .

At last we have some lovely weather and what a difference on the course it has made , the greens have fully recovered from the recent aeration in less than 3 weeks,. Last weekend was busy with our Charlie Logan Memorial Champagne Scramble, congratulations to all the winners, we also had 2 inter club competitions with a win in the Peirce Purcell over Rosslare but we suffered a loss to New Ross in the Junior Cup. We also had a busy week on the course , fertilizing the greens , surrounds and tees before Monday night’s rain. We also had the course measured on Friday. Looking forward to seeing you all out in the coming week . We are now taking names for the men’s single Matchplay .

Our Brennan Cup team were beaten 3-2 against Druids Glen after a pulsating battle in the deciding match. With the matches tied at 2 each , we had won our 2 home matches and Druids had won their first 2 home matches, our last pairing away finished all square and went to sudden death, after nearly 6 hours we lost on the 21st hole after a titanic battle. Congratulations to Druids Glen and hard luck to everyone on the Ballymoney side who all battled well up to the end in all the matches . Thanks to Captain Richard Doyle who provided a great running commentary on the match .
