St Vincent's Basketball Club St.Vincents Basketball Club. In the Community since 1962 Our home is St Vincent's school in Glasnevin, with the Superleague team now based in DCU Sports Complex.

St Vincent's Basketball Club is one of Ireland's oldest clubs, with teams from academy level (Little Saints) all the way up to u20, Dublin League Divisions 1,2,5 and 6, and of course, our Men's Superleague team, the DCU Saints. 🏀 WELCOME TO ST VINCENT’S, MARK BODNAR! 💙⭐️

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Bodnar as the new Head Coach of our Super League team for the upcoming season.

Mark began playing basketball at the age of 11 at one of Ukraine’s leading basketball academies, representing Ukraine at U16, U18 and U20 level, including the FIBA U20 European Championship, before beginning his professional career at just 16 years of age. Throughout his career, he has worked under national team coaches from Ukraine and Latvia, as well as coaches with experience in the EuroCup, NBA, G League and VTB League.

After relocating to Ireland, Mark continued playing professionally while moving into coaching with Drogheda Wolves, assisting with practices, tactical planning, scouting and recruitment. In 2026, he was selected to join the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board – 7 Generation Academy, continuing his development under some of Europe’s leading basketball professionals.

On joining St Vincent’s, Mark said:

“I’m incredibly happy and grateful to have been given this opportunity by St Vincent’s, a club with such a rich history and strong traditions. I felt the belief the club has in me and in my potential, and I share the same desire to keep developing, improving, and progressing every day.

A huge thank you to Joe Gilligan, St Vincent’s, and the entire committee for your trust and for giving me this opportunity. I’ll do my very best to repay that faith on the basketball court and off it.

I’m really looking forward to the start of the season and to meeting our fans. See you all soon!”

Chairperson Joe Gilligan added:

“To support the vision of sustainability within the club, I was looking for someone who could provide that. Mark has experience coaching underage teams and academies, and his expertise in bringing young Vincent’s players up to the standard required to play Super League will be key in creating long-term pathways to success.”

🚨 REMINDER: Our first Super League game of the season is at home to Limerick Sport Eagles on 2 October at 8:00pm. We can’t wait to see you there! 🏀
