A huge congratulations to our final two GLTC teams to feature in the Connacht v Munster Winter/Mixed League.
Both teams battled all the way to the finish, narrowly missing out on the winners’ podium to two very strong teams from Ballinlough Tennis Club.
With FIVE tie break sets going against GLTC, the margins couldn’t have been tighter.
To top the Connacht League and then travel to Munster to challenge on their home ground is a fantastic achievement.

A huge congratulations to our XD4 team who played in the Munster v Connacht Mixed Doubles Spring League Final today in Nenagh Tennis Club.
🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾
Our GLTC team of Deirdre Byrnes, Vincent Daly, Ciaran McGoldrick and Trish O’Connor faced a talented team from Rosanna, Co. Tipperary, in a series of incredibly tight matches that went all the way to a superset decider.
It was a fantastic spectacle, with some outstanding tennis, including drop shots and net play that would have challenged the best on the ATP Tour.
Well done to our GLTC team for representing the club with such skill, determination and sportsmanship. We’re incredibly proud of you all.
And a big thank you to Nenagh Tennis Club for hosting such a great final.

Monday and Tuesday saw the Galway Junior 200 deliver some seriously high-quality tennis across every age group. 👏🎾

Home success was front and centre for Galway Lawn Tennis Club Niamh Ni Ghallchoir, who edged past Bettystown’s Grace O’Flaherty to take the Girls U12 title. In the Boys U14 another Connacht representative Westport’s Eoin Ó’Raghallaigh defeated Leinster's Nikolai Corbett where a very close first set tie break being decisive.

Other standout wins:

Boys U12:Brookfield’s Austin Casey overcame Rathgar’s Tom Brennan in a tight, competitive match
Girls U14:Clontarf’s Emma Weber beat Ruby Brennan.
Boys U14 Doubles:Dillon Fegan & Ben Galligan cruised to victory over Austin Casey & Matthew O’flaherty.
Boys U16:Donnybrook’s Parson Yu defeated Kilkenny’s Fionn Hayes.
Girls U16: Newtownparks Lucie Doolin clinched a hard-hitting win against Ennis player Lena Paglan.

Galway LTC Junior 200 started with the U10 age groups.

Some great tennis on show today—though it was a true Wild West in terms of the weather.

The green and orange courts produced some excellent tennis throughout. It was also an all-girls Galway final, with Sarah Leonard taking the spoils over her teammate Emma Wu.

It was a particularly strong day for the Leonard family, with Sarah Leonard’s success backed up by Gavin Leonard, who defeated another Galway teammate, Harry Hartmann, in the orange ball final.

Huge thanks to everyone who took part & those who travelled big distances to play.

The older main 200-point events begin tomorrow and run through Tuesday.

Congratulations to our four young members who have been selected to represent Connacht at this year's Under 18 Interprovincial Tennis Championships, taking place this weekend at Templeogue Tennis Club.

Everyone at GLTC wishes Jack Farrell, Iain Navarro Bocage, Aoife Kelly and Ashling Sweeney the very best of luck.

Congratulations to our Galway Ladies on their fantastic victory yesterday in the Ladies Senior Football All-Ireland Final against Kerry. What an incredible achievement, bringing the Brendan Martin Cup back to Galway for the first time in 22 years. Well done to the players and management on a truly memorable success, you have done your county proud. 🇱🇻

Everyone at Galway Lawn Tennis Club would also like to congratulate our neighbours in Mayo on their Senior Men's All-Ireland triumph last week, ending an incredible 75 year wait for Sam. Rumour has it the celebrations are still going strong 💚❤️
The West is certainly awake these days. Congratulations to both counties on two historic sporting achievements. 🏆🏆
