I was with my friends the other day, celebrating when I looked at the outside to see it was raining 🐱and 🐶. And I thought how I would get home in this weather without being soaked. And then I just said to myself: somehow I will. I will take out my umbrella and put on rainy coat and I am all set. Did it make me feel a bit better? yes, IT DID.
Now, the same strategy applies to our bad days when we get up feeling cranky or something unexpected happens throwing us out of the path. Instead of paying attention to the negative event that occurred, instead of creating worse case scenarios in your head, I am asking you to stop, take a deep breath and ask yourself: What can I do now that will make me feel even a little bit better? My examples below:
* a phone call to my friend
* a cup of coffee
* journaling on those emotions
* dancing
* seven breaths in and out
* screaming (that's powerful)
* crying
* watching a funny video
* visualizing my nephew's sweet smile
What other action could you take today that will move you towards feeling a bit better? ! Remember, it is always a step forward if you feel anger when five minutes ago you felt frustrated. 🌻
