❤️ Meet my sister, Alceina ❤️
This morning I was delighted to welcome my sister Alciena into the gym for some photos as we begin sharing a little more about why our upcoming fundraiser for the Irish Kidney Association means so much to me personally.
Alcina isn’t just my big sister — she’s been one of the biggest influences in my life. Growing up, alongside my parents and siblings, she helped shape the person I am today. As a dad to girls now, I often think about how much my sisters influenced the way I treat and respect women and people in general. I genuinely owe a lot of my character to them.
We’re a very close family, and I’m proud to be godfather to her daughter, Rhianna. When Alciena became ill, it was incredibly difficult watching someone you love go through something you can’t fix. Like any family member, I felt helpless at times. When the opportunity came to donate my kidney, there wasn’t a second thought — I just wanted to help. For various reasons it didn’t work out, but thankfully everything worked out for the best, and today Alcina has received her double transplant and is an absolute inspiration in how she has come through it all.
Having her in TrainStationGalway today made this fundraiser feel even more real. Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be sharing more photos and stories as we build awareness and support for our event on Saturday, March 14th, raising funds for the Irish Kidney Association.
👉 We’ll also be running a raffle on the day, so if you’re a local business and would like to donate a prize or service, we would be hugely grateful for your support. Please send us a message if you’d like to get involved.
Thank you to everyone already supporting — it truly means a lot ❤️
