So there was only one winner this weekend with all 3 games lost to rain without a ball being bowled.

The mens T20 games have been refixed for this Sunday to keep the competition structure in place

A week of highlights where the rainier conditions at the weekend meant bat was dominated by the ball. We had 2 more 5fers to add to our honours board.

Fahim Shah claimed 6 wickets and a run out to nearly single handedly drag Galway back into a contest that was escaping them.

Jayeah Juneja took 5 with Basheer taking 3 and illif taking 2 well to blow Midleton cricket club away as they were bowled for 70.

Bashir added to his 3 wickets with a blistering 4-26 along with captain Renjith as Kilconnell fell well short in their chase on Saturday with 2 wickets for debutant Ismail also

Sewandi from our women's team stretched her lead at the top of the munster womens batting and bowling charts as the women fell 1 ball short of making a game against cork county

It wasn't just the players we had Sarah Barry take her first steps into umpiring aided by Connacht Cricket Union umpires chairman Steve Wood

Off the field we had firsts too. Thanks to fantastic work by juniors captain Suhas Galway and the CCU have now the capability to stream from Lydican so expect to see amd hear more from us now as two veterans Shariq Nasim and Tommy Maxfield took to the mic for the first time to deliver their analysis on the national cup game

This weeks results.
For a week that broke temperature records all over the country the really winner was the rain, claiming all 3 of Saturday's games. 2 without a ball being bowled.

The senior side bounced back from last weeks disappointing result in the national cup to claim back to back wins in both Connacht Cricket Union and Munster Cricket where fantastic bowling efforts defended modest totals with comfort.

The women were within 1 ball of a result - ahead on dls at the time before play was called off. Stopping them improving on their solid start to tje season.

In the one loss the scorching heat played its part as galway fell short in the chase to a strong University of Galway Side

A bumper weekend of Bank Holiday cricket.

5 games across 3 days with our women's side facing Limerick Cricket Club and Cork County Cricket Club looking to stretch their lead at the top of the table after winning 3 out of their first 4 games.

Our mens side looking to avenge last weeks national cup loss to the University of Galway this Saturday in the Connacht Cricket Union Premier division in what could be a title defining match

That is followed up by a trip to Kilconnell Cricket Club on Sunday before a rearranged game by Munster Cricket puts our team on the road to Midleton Cricket Club in a game that will test the clubs depth.
