County outdoors day 2!
Day 2 of the County outdoors brought more excitement for the younger athletes in our club. With many of these athletes making their debut for Loch Lurgan AC, excitement was at fever pitch and the nerves were rattling!!
Our young athletes didn't need to worry! Well done to
Vivienne, Maia, Meibh, Ben, Cillian O'C, Cillian C, Jack, Daithi, Dara, Luke, Luca, Eli, Robert, Sean, Lexie, Emma, Vince, Samme, Philly, Isabella, Siofra, Eabha, Cole and Alex!!
The first medal of the day went to Alex, who, like his big sister Abigail the day before, won GOLD in the u11 turbo javelin!! Good news followed to announce both Alex and Eli had won a paired gold for turbo javelin! A very big well done to Alex and to Eli, both boys love to train for throwing and have a lot more to give in the event.🥉 👏
Later on in the day, we had another paired medal with Robert and Alex again, this time winner silver in the u11 long jump!! As this was Roberts first competition and Alex's second medal, both boys can be very proud. 🥈
Alex, Eli and Robert will go on to represent Loch Lurgan AC at the Connaught championships!

The day finished with both our u11 relay teams placing 10th place overall.
The county outdoors are the highlight of our athletics year and this year was no different. Well done to all our young athletes and big thanks to all the parental support and volunteers who helped out on the 2 days. The very best of luckto all our athletes who will go on to compete at the connaughts!! 💪💪🤩
