A family run business based in the heart of world renowned Galway “Blazers” Hunt whose history traces back to the 1700’s. Currently managed by Johnny Geoghegan we have been providing hirelings to the various packs of hounds in the west of Ireland, including the Co Galway foxhounds, the Co
Clare foxhounds, the Bermingham and north Galway foxhounds for over 30 years. Visitors with us enjoy the legendary stone wall country and relive the wonderful stories regaled for many years of galloping hard and long evenings reliving the day. Our season runs from mid October to early and our hunting country covers miles of limestone pasture with dry stone walls, good light going. The walls vary in size and structure from the light single stone walls to the famous double walls which form the historical boundaries between parishes and estates of old. Our country offers an enjoyable challenge for both the experienced and novice rider, for the experienced there is the challenge of fly jumping walls at the gallop and for the novice, if discretion is exercised a gap will always appear in even the best built wall. We take great pride in our ability to match horses with people and providing our clients with quality hunters which suit all kinds of riders of all ages young and old. The horses well-schooled and hunted are used to crossing the beautiful stone wall country. Our horses are all Irish bred, most of them being the traditional Irish sport horse, but we also have a selection of Irish draughts and Connemara ponies.
