🔴⚫️ U14s Semi-Final result ⚫️🔴
Tommy Larkins : 1-9
Moycullen : 2-10
The U14 Cup semi-finals took place last night with our boys hosting Moycullen at home in Tommy Larkins Park.
Lads got off to a flying start with the first couple of points. Moycullen got back into it then leading 1-3 to 0-3 after 12 minutes. We had plenty of ball into the danger area and could have had a couple of goals at this stage but somehow the ball just wouldn't go in. Credit to Moycullen goalkeeper and defence. Our Lads continued to work very hard , passing it about and got the next 5 scores(1-4) in a row from play. Moycullen got a free and a point coming up to half time, we went in leading 1-7 to 1-5.
Moycullen started 2nd half well with 3 frees in first 10minutes. It was 1-8 each at the end of the third quarter. Another free and a sucker punch of a goal from Moycullen at the right time for them pushed them over the line holding out for a 2-10 to 1-9 win.
Poor lads were devastated initially afterwards in the dressing room. Words of consolation reflection and optimism from Cathal and the mentors afterwards thanking the lads for their efforts during the championship campaign. Lads have allot to look forward to and they progressed really well over the year.
There was plenty of highlights during the campaign and only last week edged the playoff trilogy in Kilnadeema.
Overall the lads had a good year can hold their heads up high.
Upstairs after to the kitchen for Tea and treats for the teams management and parts. Thanks to Martha and all the parents who brought in the goodies and assisted in the kitchen.
We would like to thank the lads for their efforts during the campaign, also to thank the parents for their support and getting the lads to their training and matches.
