Extended Deadline for Public Survey: 3rd July. Galway County Council is inviting the
community to a public consultation event and survey to help shape the future of
Portumna’s swimming area as a vibrant outdoor recreation, community and tourism
destination. The proposed vision includes a water sports and recreation hub,
improved walking and cycling connections, a strong focus on biodiversity and
sustainability, and the development of a high-quality public park promoting health
and wellbeing. The in-person consultation will take place at Portumna Courthouse on
Clonfert Avenue on Wednesday, 1st July from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, with the online
survey running alongside it. You can share your views by attending or completing the
survey at Portumna Bathing Area: Public Survey. Feedback will help shape Portumna’s future.
