The second leg of the Connacht Cricket Union Women's Select versus Munster Cricket Union Women's Select XI Series plays out at Lydican, Co. Galway. The two final T20 matches will be played on Saturday.
The CCU Women have already won two out of the four matches at Glenstal CC, Co. Limerick earlier in July.
There will be a award presentation to the winner of this inaugural Women's Select XI Series.
Come down and support your representative clubs and players on this historic day for women's cricket in our provincial union 🏏

Over the past three weeks County Galway Cricket Club have facilitated training with the Connacht Cricket Unions's newest club, Maigh Eo Cricket Club. Thanks to Sarah Barry of Cricket Ireland, head coach Tom Maxfield of Co. Galway CC and Steve Wood of the CCU for helping and offering advice on how to establish a club. All the best to Maigh Eo Cricket Club and looking forward to them participating in the 2027 season 🏏✨

Its the final weekend of CCU matches in the 2026 season. The Premier League winner will be decided on Saturday.
Regarding Division One it will be between Ballyhaunis Cricket Club and Athlone Town Cricket Club on who can end their season on a high. Best of luck to all teams playing 🏏💚

This weekend brings the penultimate round of the CCU Premier League. Four clubs scramble for valuable match points, will Shamrock Cricket Club Galway retain top placing or University of Galway CC leap to pole position? Who will come up trumps between Ballyhaunis Cricket Club and County Galway Cricket Club?

Division One is also contested on Sunday between Ballyhaunis CC 2nds and Galway Shamrocks CC 2nds. A win would add a buffer to Galway Shamrocks current 2nd placing on the league table. Ballyhaunis will have different aspirations, still keen to climb the league table.

Smilies all round at a softball Smash Its blitz in Ballina Cricket Club Co. Mayo this week. Led by Cricket Ireland's Community Hub Co-ordinator Sarah Barry and assisted by the Connacht Cricket Union and Ballina CC members, the children of Ballina and County Galway Cricket Club had a fantastic time. A triple treat of matches is on the cards in the Connacht Cricket Union this weekend.
In the Premier League University of Galway CC 1st clash with County Galway Cricket Club 1st hoping to gain pole position in the league. Shamrock Cricket Club Galway 1st will also challenging for lead position when they face Kilconnell Cricket Club1st.
Sunday sees the Division One league play out between University of Galway CC 2nds and Co. Galway CC 2nds. A win for UOG could give them a chance to run away with the competition. A determined Co. Galway side will have other ideas.
A cracking weekend of cricket is sure to guaranteed 🏏💚
