Calling athletes from all sporting disciplines, age 16 years and older across Galway city and county, the award aims to develop and support sporting talent of the future with an impressive one year prize package covering specialist medical and physiotherapy treatment, personalised training plans, consultations and gym membership. This year’s supporting partners include; Keith Gildea, Manager at Ocean Fitness, Darcy Noel of Baily Point Physiotherapy, Aisling Snedker, Clinical and Sports Dietician, Sarah Thornton of Sarah Thornton Personal Training, Dr. Aideen Henry, Sports Medicine Physician at the Galway Clinic and Kieran Shannon, Sports Psychologist. Keith Gildea, founder of the BUA Awards commented “We urge sports people from all sports to enter, whether you are an individual or a team member. It’s an amazing opportunity for anyone wanting to progress their natural sporting abilities with one-on-one guides from a range of experts in their professional fields. The deadline for submission of entries is DATE TBC. The judging panel will then shortlist candidates for interview and the overall winner will be announced in January 2015.

**UPDATE ON DAVID O'SULLIVAN - 2012 BUA Award Recipient**

David competed in the Irish national age groups this weekend held at the NAQ. He won gold in the 100 meter butterfly breaking his own Connacht junior and senior record in the event.

He also won gold in the 200 meter butterfly and silver in the 200 and 400 meter freestyle events. David was on the Galway 4X 200 meter relay team which broke the Connacht junior record for the event David only competed in 5 events over the 4 days because he is preparing for the US open. David flies out to California on Thursday.
