🟠⚪️County Final Weekend 🟠⚪️

Big weekend for our club as our second ladies team compete in the junior E championship final against St Furseys.

This is the first time in club history that we have a second ladies and for them to get to a final in their first year is fantastic 🏆🏆

With home advantage it would be great to get as much support up to Bearna at 3:15pm to cheer on the ladies 🟠⚪️

Our U-19 boys are also in action on Sunday in the West Semi Final against Micheál Breathnach in Inverin at 1pm. 🏐🏐

Best of luck to both teams on what is a big weekend for the club. Please support if you can 🟠⚪️

🧡🤍Minor Girls 🧡🤍

On a morning for bed our minor girls took to an immaculate Bearna pitch this morning to record a historic 3-9 to 2-4 victory over an excellent Caltra side. 👏👏👏

This is the first year our ladies have competed in Division 1 and now play in shield final likely to be next weekend.

The match was one of immense skill heart and determination and one can only be proud to be part of the girls journey. Congrats ladies.
Ye continue to make history and to set substantial standards. 🧡🤍

Onwards ye go and so deservedly so. 💪💪

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our great friend and club stalwart Siobhan (Shuey) Flaherty. Fondly known as “Shuey” she was an integral player for Barna Ladies, and a valued member of Barna GAA Club.

Anyone who met Shuey quickly learned that there are always laughs to be shared. Her infectious laughter and the glint of devilment in her eye put everyone that knew her in good form. She was always up for a laugh or a joke and you would always be met with a big smile.

We all have great memories of Shuey's exciting plays, blazing speed and bravery on the pitch. Shuey always gave her teammates a lot of confidence playing alongside her and Siobhan always gave her heart and soul when she pulled on the Bearna jersey. There are no words to describe how much we will miss her in the community.

The Flaherty family are steeped in tradition of CLG Bhearna and Barna Ladies Football club both playing and coaching. The club extends its sincere condolences to Siobhan’s son Leighton and partner Adrian, her mother Norah, D.D., Maura, Sinéad, Aine, Sheila and Noreen and all the Flaherty family.

Bean uasal a bhí Siobhan ar chuile bhealach. Cúis mhór bróin dúinn go bhfuil ár gcara Siobhan imithe ar shlí na fírinne, suaimhneas síoraí di.🙏

“Tá an fheadóg dheireanach séidte, ach a leithéid de chluiche.” Leaba i measc na naomh go raibh aice.🧡🤍
