Transition
You are responsible for keeping your valuables safe – this includes your name and phone number on your wetsuit so that any collection errors can be quickly fixed. We have a bag drop area available. This will be carefully marshalled, so please follow directions for decisions about where to locate your spot.

Facilities Available on the Day
• There will be portaloo toilet facilities and bins available next to transition – no toilets at swim start!
• University Coffee Shop will be open for purchase of water, teas, coffees, sandwiches etc for spectators.
• A Healthy and Hearty stand will be providing a light meal after the race for athletes and marshals only. Other refreshments are for purchase at the University coffee shop.

Race Route
• PUT YOUR CHIP ONTO YOUR ANKLE.
• Race briefing will take place at Swim Start.
• Swim start is approx. 600m upriver from transition swim start. This will be signposted and you will be alerted when your wave is needed at the swim start point.
o Please keep an ear out for race announcements on the day!
o This is where you will need your flip flops to walk up from Transition to Race Start – leave your racing runners in Transition!
• 12.15 2km swimmers – all 2km swim races will go off together. You will start floating, and swim upstream for 500m. You will turn left around a buoy, and then complete the race downstream keeping away from the channel and keeping all markers and buoys on your left hand side.
• 12.30 - 1km swimmers - it is a floating start down river where you will merge with the 2km swimmers, and race downstream, with the exit to the right. The exit will be marshalled and they will support exits from water. Keep all buoys and markers on your left hand side.
• Kayakers will be supporting the swim for each distance. Any concerns or difficulties, turn over on your back and raise your arm – someone will be over to you.

• Take care at the exit of the swim – watch for the marker - and then it’s straight into transition.

• A quick change and then the run starts with a quick left turn out of transition (towards the university) as far as the marshalled cone where you will loop back, staying left the entire time, up as far as the sports fields before coming back again to the finish line.
• Run course is 1 loop for the 5k and 2 loops for the 10k – you are responsible for counting loops, no wristbands will be provided.
• Listen to the marshals and follow directions – have a look at the running route as this may be different from previous events on this course.
• Runners should take care to stay left on the run and be aware of runners coming against them please.
• You should note that this run course is on a public thoroughfare. Please be respectful of other users (and their dogs). We have done our best to notify of the race, but good sportsmanship stretches to the public too and littering / abuse / arguing will not be tolerated.

After the Race
• Bananas, cake and water will be provided to refuel
• A Healthy and Hearty stand will be providing a light meal after the race for athletes and marshals only, pop into the shop or the nearby Barista bar for tea / coffee / snacks if you’re a spectator, or need a caffeine fix.
• Prize-giving will take place around 3.45 / 4pm.
• Stick around to cheer on the other competitors and enjoy the atmosphere
• Pick up your flip flops, clothing and wetsuit.
