Recently we were presented an Emerald Award for our Code of Practice for Sustainable Tourism from The Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Geopark. It’s a bi-annual process we undergo that is independently assessed for the Geopark by Sligo IT. This is our second time in a row getting the Emerald standard which is the highest award achievable and signifies that we are a business that “leads the way as an exemplary sustainable tourism operator.” This on the back of County Clare being announced as the first county-wide certified sustainable tourism destination in Ireland in April last year.

Sand Martins have returned for the summer and are already preparing their nests. They nest in burrows in sand dunes having travelled 3,000km from Senegal in Africa to get here, so please avoid disturbing them as we all head to the coast while the sun is shining.
