Children bored and getting under your feet this summer? Why not let them try their hand at sailing in Lough Swilly in a new look centre on the shores of the Lake of Shadows. Lough Swilly Sailing School is a not for profit organisation working in partnership with Lough Swilly Yacht Club for the development of sailing within the area. Sessions are run in the historic Fahan creek beside the old pier.
We use the picturesque surroundings of the quiet town of Fahan. We provide individual tuition in Laser Picos with qualified instructors. The school provides Safety cover, helmets and buoyancy aids for any sessions on the water. The center runs according to Irish Sailing Association specification, from taster sessions to improver skills and Advanced Boat Handling. All these courses run from Monday- Friday but can be tailored to fit your needs, whether that be going for a tour of the creek or just a leisurely sail. Sailing sessions are delivered by a fully qualified, experienced Senior Instructor assisted by Dunghy Instructors, with valid first aid certificates. The School has been running for over 15 years and has introduced sailing to hundreds of beginning sailors and given them a whole new skill-set, which hopefully they continued to develop.
