Congratulations to Slaney Cycling Club member Peter Mitten & Co. for raising an impressive €2335 at their coffee morning today. Peter, along with his comrades, are currently raising funds for their Charity Cycle “Mizen - Malin - Malin - Mizen” for Dementia Ireland, a cause close to many of our hearts. All monies from today’s event, which took place at The Crosses in Kilmuckridge, will be added to those already raised. 😊

Last weekend SCC’s Sunday Tour & Larry had a training spin both headed to Clonroche ( where the larry group picked up pace and separated), Ballinaboola, Wellingtonbridge, Duncormick, Bridgetown, Taghmon, Galbally and Beechdale before returning home to Enniscorthy. Clocking 100km, we had our coffee stop in Wellintonbridge where we ran into Team Cupra from Wexford and had some friendly banter. Look forward to seeing you guys again. 😀

Larry group followed a similar route posted here. I know he had a friendly detour up Sliabh Coilte where the pic was snagged below.

What better way was there to end Stage 3 of the 2026 Rás Tailteann but in our wonderful town of Enniscorthy on Friday? 🏰

Liam Flanagan of APS Pro Cycling crossed the finish line with a brilliant victory to cheers from those lining the pavement at the Showgrounds. 🏅

Slaney Cycling Club Chairman John Butler had this to say of the event: “It was a great privilege to work alongside club member Liam Ruth to organise the end of Stage 3 of the Rás Tailteann 2026. Although it came with a level of stress, it was worth it when all the riders crossed the finish line. A massive thanks has to go to the organisers for choosing Enniscorthy for the finish. It was a great spectacle for the town.” Continuing he said: “It was an honour to be jointly asked, with Liam Ruth, to present Lindsay Watson of Team Caldwell Powerhouse Racing, his jersey and prize.” 😊

140 elite cyclists from Ireland, the UK and Europe raced the 157km route from Mitchelstown in Co. Cork before sprinting uphill at Carley’s Bridge prior to crossing the finish line. 🚴‍♂️

Stage End Organiser and Slaney Cycling Club member Liam Ruth expressed his gratitude for all those who helped pull the event together in Enniscorthy: “Thanks to local sponsors Enniscorthy Credit Union, Donohoe’s Skoda and Wexford County Council.

Gratitude also goes to James Browne TD, Cllr. Barbara Anne Murphy, Cllr. John O’ Rourke, Cllr. Aidan Browne, Cllr. Patricia Byrne, Cllr. Pat Kehoe and Cllr. Jackser Owens who supported us yesterday. Your presence was important and appreciated by the Rás organisation.

Thanks to The Village at Wheelocks for the wonderful Wexford strawberries and Flowers by Grace, Clonhaston for the lovely bouquets for our jersey winners.

Huge thank you to John O’ Rourke’s Coal Yard, Ross Road for his unwavering support from the first day when we nervously asked him if we could take his forecourt for the day. He was inconvenienced for the entire day but never complained, instead offering solutions to our issues.

Special mention to Mick Hall and Gavin Cahill and the team from An Garda Siochana. Community policing at its finest and they rose to the challenge with professionalism and friendliness.

Thanks also to Eamonn and Martin from Enniscorthy Municipal Council for doing the unseen but essential work collecting, delivering and collecting again barriers, cones, signs and so forth. Couldn't get more helpful men to work with.

Thanks to our wonderful marshals from Slaney Cycling Club and Wexford Wheelers and to all our other cycling friends who stood up to help.

Thanks to the residents of the Ross Road who moved cars and accepted the inconvenience with a smile. A great community who couldn't have been more welcoming.

Finally, thanks to all those who came out to support the 2026 men of the Rás . Your support made for an exciting finale to Stage 3.

Slaney Cycling Club has a long, proud history of hosting and competing in Rás Táilteann from the 1970s to the present day. We were delighted to support the 71st Rás Táilteann and look forward to supporting it into the future."

SCC would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those that took part and wish everyone the best of luck in Stage 5 tomorrow. 👏🚴‍♂️💪🌞
