Laois Kayak & Canoe Club Laois Kayak and Canoe Club is a member's only not for profit club who meet regularly all year round The club is affiliated with the Irish Canoe Union.

Laois Kayak and Canoe Club is involved in many different types of kayaking and canoeing, ranging from white water river-running and canoe polo to freestyle play boating and flat-water racing. The Club aims to introduce everyone to the sport of kayaking, and caters for every level of skill, from complete beginner to expert paddling. 🛶 Want to learn how to kayak? Start your adventure with LKCC!Whether you are looking for a fun new hobby, want to explore Ireland's beautiful waterways, or just want to try something exciting on the water, our LKCC Beginner Course is perfect for you! No previous experience required.
📅 Dates: Saturday, 15th August & Sunday, 16th August
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily
📍 Location: Laois Kayak and Canoe Club, Durrow, Co. Laois (R32 C5FC)
🌟 What you'll learn: Entry/exit, forward & reverse paddling, emergency stops, and the essential capsize drill to earn your Level 1 Kayak Skills requirements! Everything you need to know:
✔️ All specialized kayaking equipment is fully provided!
👟 Just bring a packed lunch, a drink, and wear old clothes/wetsuit with old runners or water shoes.

🛶 Ready to try kayaking? Bring your teen!
We are running a special Kayak Club Taster Session. It is the perfect chance for you and your teenager to get out on the water together. No experience is needed!
📅 When:Sunday, 26th July 2026
Morning Session: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon Session: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
🎟️ Ticket Details:Price: €30 per ticket.One ticket covers two people: One parent/guardian AND one teenager (aged 16+).
Equipment provided: We supply kayaks, paddles, and buoyancy aids.
Wetsuits: Not provided. Please wear comfortable sports clothes you don't mind getting wet.
🎒 What to bring:A full change of clothes, A towel, Shoes you don't mind getting wet (like old trainers)
Spaces are strictly limited to ensure everyone stays safe and has fun. Pick your time slot and grab your joint ticket before they sell out!
