We’re very sorry to hear the news of Martinas passing ❤️‍🩹
A massive shock to us all and the wider community. We’d like to pass on our sincerest condolences to Gavin and all of Martinas family at this heartbreaking time.

It is with great sadness we announce the untimely death of our former General Manager, Martina Rafferty.

Martina joined the Dungloe Waterfront Hotel in 2017 as Sales and Marketing Manager. She was quickly promoted to General Manager in 2018. Martina guided the business with great zeal and professionalism during her tenure.

She and her team were responsible for many wonderful events held  at the Waterfront Hotel. Including weddings, christenings, birthday and anniversary celebrations and for many years would have driven the Mary From Dungloe Gala Ball.

In 2020 when Covid hit,  Martina came to the helm and guided us through an incredibly difficult time facilitating both staff and guests to avail of the hospitality that had been curtailed during that difficult time.

Also in 2020 the TV programme ‘At Your Service’ initiated filming at The Dungloe Waterfront Hotel and Sweenys Hotel. Martina was heavily involved and displayed her professionalism, boundless enthusiasm and vibrant glow. Martina saw the Sweeneys Hotel project through many years of hard work and challenging moments until we opened the doors in July 2024.

Martina left our operation in June 2025 to further her career within the hospitality industry. She will be sadly missed by our clients who Martina had left a resonating impression upon and her work colleagues who are just devastated at her passing. 

Our thoughts  and prayers go out to her family at this time.

REMINDER TO RERACK WEIGHTS AND EQUIPMENT!

A quick reminder to all gym users to re-rack your weights and equipment to where you first found it.
Specifically to our HIIT room users as it’s important to be mindful to people who may not be unable to un-rack the 25kg plates from our barbells and the prowler.

We strive to ensure that all of our amazing members have a positive experience every time they visit!
