CLUB HISTORY.....
The original club was formed in Carrowgarrif in 1928. The founder members included Paddy McGrath, the principal organiser, Deuge McGrath, Jackie McGrath, Tommy Mulcahy, the Kielys of Glendog and Eddie Power. The club the went out of existence but was reformed again in 1945. In 1956 Colligan Emmetts football club was founded. In 1960 Colligan hurling & football were affiliated. 1s
t training sessions were held at Carrowgarriff in the 1920's, late 1940's in Brett's and Curraghnamadree, and thereafter at Kirwans in Colligan, Butlers at Garrycloyne and at Páirc Coilligeán since 1984. Paírc an Coilligeán purchased on January 18th 1981. Dressing Rooms erected in 1992. Garage, Public Toilets, Dugouts, Post & Rial fencing erected in 200 and Official opening by Padraig S. O Riain, Cathaoirleach, Coiste Phortláirge on 13/05/2001. Since then the playing facilities have been also availed of by Divisional & County Boards for Championship games, county teams of all grades for training and for underage clubs of Naomh Padraig, Naomh Bríd & Gael na Chomeraigh. Throughout the years the club has had numerous success (please see this under the AWARDS section) and has had club players represent county teams in all grades of both codes........
