Tonight I decided to record a short snippet of my practice, not because its Instagram perfect, but because its real. A practice of dropping in, movement, breath and support.
Over the last few months I have been leaning deeply into a whole mixture of new and established supports to sustain my wellbeing.
In July, I lost the power in my arm, which resulted in a hospital stay and the diagnosis of a new neurological condition, on top of an already complex fusion of other conditions.
Since then I've been diving deeply into all the practices I know to soothe my nervous system whilst also working with my neuro-physio to regain my arm strength.
Last year I started my chair yoga training journey with and have found the support of a chair in making my yoga practice accessible again so very valuable, like a life raft in the stormy seas.
As an ambulatory wheelchair user so many classes have become inaccessible to me over the last few years as the venues require the stairs, or the chair yoga classes are advertised for "older people" & "over 55s"🙈 and at 42 I don't fit into either....
SO the create bubbles began to rise and over the last few months our Well-Being community have experienced my accessible yoga classes which offer a fusion of options for our practices through standing, sitting or lying down, a simple invitation to come as you are (which actually forms part of my interfaith ordination vow).
Tomorrow I embark on a new accessible yoga training and am SO looking forward to sharing these practices once I have embodied them more fully💜
I feel the bubbles of new beginnings gently swirling through my being and the doorways which once looked closed forever, now seem shiny, bright & filled with possibilities, and for that I am SO grateful 🙏
For those of you in the depths of life, the challenges & big crashing waves I see you and hope your life raft arrives soon to offer support, breathing space and resipte.
With Love,
Laura x
