Some good results yesterday in Newry at Empire Grappling. Between white belts getting their first competition exposure to others first tournaments in a couple of years.

It’s a brilliant level tournament to get yourself back into the swing of things or to give it a go and see how you like it.

There’s a good chance you’ll see most of these people at open mats 7pm tonight!

Friday Evenings at 6:30PM is our Muay Thai Sparring session.

It’s a mixed session for those who have been training in other classes throughout the week.

Every week the session is finished with some focused clinch work and feedback, gearing for technical improvement after the sparring rounds.

Beginners Class tonight at 8:30PM if you have been considering getting involved, feel free to drop down for your first FREE class.

Halfway through another good week of training in Dundalk. Wednesday is usually a busy night for both sessions, including a beginner friendly Muay Thai session. Perfect to try out as your first class.

🛠️ MAINTENANCE CLOSURE🛠️

All members should have received an email this week regarding a closure for some planned renovations.

There will be no kids, teens or adults classes Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Sunday evening / Monday Bank Holiday Open mat will be decided closer to the time and updated here, through email and in our WhatsApp group.

Otherwise, classes back to normal on Tuesday at 12PM.

Aaron Reilly - IBJJF Europeans Silver Medal - Brown Belt M1 -82KG + Team Torres newest Black Belt.

4 very tough matches, including knocking out the #1 seed in the semi finals.

Aaron is a perfect example of perseverance in competition. Putting together a lot of tough matches and gold medal performances over the last 12/18 months.

Although this was not the result he worked for, outside of the Worlds Championships this is the highest standard available to compete in Brazilian JiuJitsu.

Well done Aaron, we are all so proud of you.

Regular Classes will finish on Saturday the 20th of December.

Our Christmas Schedule begins on Monday 22nd of December.

Regular Classes back on Monday 5th January 2026.

NoGi Europeans 2025 finishes for us.

Coaches Dave and Andrew both took bronze in their divisions alongside Ailish’s gold medal from earlier on in the week.

Slightly over 3000 people competed in Rome this week at the tournament, it was a very good learning curve for many of the younger competitors.

Hopefully we will be back next year with an even bigger team attempting to become European Champions.
