We cater for all types of craft and for all types of people - the only common denominator being that they get their enjoyment from boating! The club was born in 1965, but was conceived long before then in the Crofton Hotel (where the B.I.M. It was there that a number of owners who were not members of any club and who kept their boats haphazardly in the Inner Harbour or in the Coal Harbour used to meet.It was at the suggestion of Joe Briscoe, our founder commodore, that the formation of a proper club was considered and with a subscription of £1 each he raised a fund of £30. The Club was named to indicate that it catered for all types of craft and for all types of people - the only common denominator being that they get their enjoyment from boating. So if your leisure pleasure is serious sailing or just 'messing about in boats' and if you are looking for friendly companionship which will last a lifetime - Welcome aboard!

💦 NEW FILTERED WATER STATION! ☀️

Stay hydrated this summer! We’ve just installed a new filtered water station at the club, perfectly timed for the heatwave.

Members can now quickly refill their reusable water bottles while helping to reduce single-use plastic and support a greener club. 🌍💧♻️

A big thank you to Denis and Brian for installing it!

😎⛵️A FAMILY OF RACERS! 😎⛵️

We were delighted to welcome a dad and son team to the DMYC Frostbites this season! Dad Thomas Chaix raced in his RS Aero, and son Ben Chaix raced in his Topper.

Many of you will know Thomas Chaix as the Head Coach at the National YC. Thomas was overall winner of Series 2 in the RS Aero class! 👏🏼 Ben is following in dad’s very talented footsteps and raced very well this season including being a weekly mug winner, Ben is one to watch! 👀 Well done both! 👏🏼

We look forward to welcoming both Thomas and Ben back to the DMYC Frostbites next season!
