Another fantastic night in the pool with the Oceandivers team.

For some, tonight was their very first breath underwater – the beginning of an adventure that can change the way you see the world forever. Our new students took their first steps on the PADI Scuba Diver programme with Adam, learning the fundamentals of breathing, buoyancy and confidence beneath the surface.

At the same time, Alan was leading our Advanced students in their dry suits, helping them build the skills needed to dive comfortably in Irish waters, while Rónán and Sara guided our main Open Water class through the next stage of their training.

One pool. Different journeys. The same excitement and sense of achievement.

From that very first breath underwater to developing the skills of experienced divers, it’s a privilege to watch so many people discover a passion for the underwater world.

Tuesday nights at the NAC are what Oceandivers is all about.

A big group of Discover Scuba participants took their very first breaths underwater tonight, beginning what we hope will be a lifelong adventure.

Alan led out our Dry Suit Specialty divers, while Dave helped welcome some familiar faces back into the water with Scuba Tune-Ups. The dream team of Ronan and Sara guided our Open Water students through another key step on their journey to becoming certified divers, while Richard took our Divemaster candidates under his wing for skill circuits and professional development.

From first breaths to future professionals, everyone trains side by side, supported by Ireland’s largest team of PADI professionals. No matter where you are in your diving journey, we’re here to help you build confidence, develop skills, and most importantly, enjoy the underwater world.

Happiness is a new dry suit and club members Nicky and Steven just got theirs and are trying it out in the deep water pool

Another fantastic Tuesday night in the pool.

A Weekend to Remember in Killary Fjord

What an incredible weekend on Ireland’s west coast with the Oceandivers team.

Firstly, congratulations to Mark, whose fantastic video has been selected as this weekend’s winning footage. The video features some truly spectacular marine life encounters from Killary Fjord, including conger eels, scallops, plumose anemones and a beautiful closing shot of a thornback ray gliding through the water. Some of the footage was also captured by Lynn, helping to showcase the rich marine life that makes this part of Ireland so special. Mark walks away with the coveted Oceandivers hoodie.

The weekend also saw ten new Open Water Divers and five new Advanced Open Water Divers qualify – a brilliant achievement and the result of a lot of hard work from both students and instructors.

At Oceandivers, we believe scuba diving should be open to everyone. Our professional instructors work closely with students throughout their training, providing support, encouragement and mentoring every step of the way. We don’t believe in gatekeeping or political testing. We believe in helping people learn, develop confidence and achieve their diving goals in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Whether someone arrives with hundreds of dives or is taking their very first breath underwater, they are treated with the same respect and support. Our focus is on creating safe, capable divers who share a passion for the ocean and enjoy being part of a positive diving community.

A huge thank you to all of the instructors, divemasters, volunteers and students who made the weekend such a success. The west coast delivered once again with fantastic visibility, incredible marine life and plenty of smiles both above and below the surface.

If you’ve ever thought about learning to dive, we’d love to welcome you to the Oceandivers family.

Another fantastic weekend in Connemara as the Oceandivers crew headed west to explore the stunning waters of Killary Fjord.

Our Advanced Open Water students were led by Alan, building confidence and experience in some of Ireland’s most spectacular diving conditions. Richard and Ronan guided our Open Water students through their qualifying dives, taking the next step on their journey as certified divers.

Meanwhile, Dan was leading a group of freedivers who came simply to enjoy the beauty of Killary above and below the water. From the dramatic mountains that surround Ireland’s only fjord to the crystal-clear waters beneath the surface, it’s a place that never disappoints.

A huge thank you to all of our instructors, divemasters, crew and students who made the weekend another memorable one. Great diving, great company and plenty of stories shared afterwards.

Ireland really does offer world-class diving when the conditions come together.

Tuesday Night at the NAC – Another Full House!

What a fantastic night in the National Aquatic Centre as one Open Water class handed over to the next, with every single set of Oceandivers equipment in the water and the pool buzzing from start to finish.

Our new Advanced Open Water group, led by Alan, got underway as they prepare for their upcoming trip to Killary, while a huge Open Water class of 15 students completed their swim tests and final preparations ahead of heading west this weekend for their qualifying dives.

Elsewhere in the pool, Dan was running Scuba Tune-Up sessions, helping divers refresh their skills and get back in the water with confidence, while Assistant Instructor Tim, assisted by Tomek, introduced a new group of Discover Scuba participants to the underwater world.

It was one of those nights that reminds us why we do what we do. New divers taking their first breaths underwater, experienced divers continuing their training, and a dedicated team of instructors and volunteers helping make it all happen.

We’re looking forward to a great weekend in Killary and seeing another group of divers take the next step in their underwater adventures.

Every Oceandivers trip west includes our Best Imagery Competition, open to everyone on the trip.

The challenge is simple: capture the image or video that best tells the story of the weekend. It might be a close encounter with marine life, a stunning underwater scene, a spectacular Atlantic sunset, or simply a moment that captures the spirit of the adventure.

This winning video does exactly that.

It showcases one of the things that keeps divers coming back to Connemara year after year — consistently clear water, spectacular scenery, and the unique beauty of the surrounding Connemara National Park. Few places offer the combination of world-class shore diving, dramatic mountains, and unspoilt coastline that you find on Ireland’s west coast.

Our Connemara package includes four guided shore dives with the Oceandivers crew, all diving equipment as required, and two nights bed and breakfast in the incredible Old Monastery Hostel in Letterfrack.

At €240 for non-club members and €200 for Oceandivers Club members, it remains one of the best-value dive weekends available in Ireland.

Whether you’re looking to meet new dive buddies or spend a weekend exploring the Atlantic with an old friend, there’s something special about escaping to the west coast for a few days of diving, good food, great company, and unforgettable scenery.

Congratulations to this trip’s winner and the latest recipient of the coveted Oceandivers hoodie.

Tuesday night at the National Aquatic Centre and another busy evening for the Oceandivers crew.

Dan led out the Advanced class with a buoyancy workshop focused on control, trim and confidence underwater, while Richard and Mick guided our Open Water students through another key stage of their training journey.

At the same time, Sami and Amjad introduced new divers to the underwater world through our Discover Scuba experience — first breaths underwater for the next generation of divers.

One of the great strengths of Oceandivers is the depth of experience across the team, with PADI Professionals working together every week to train divers to the highest standards in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

The Dive in Ireland app continues to evolve alongside our training program, helping students track progress, log dives and stay connected with the Oceandivers community.

Another fantastic Tuesday pool night with Dublin’s busiest scuba training team.
