This is our first social media contribution of any meaningful description in ... [checks notes] ... over two years!

Why post something now none of you might ask?

Well allow me to answer anyway.

There are two reasons...

Firstly, this weeks marks EverStrength Fitness seventh birthday - Ordinarily I'd post a picture of a cake etc, but I forgot to buy one this year (again). Anyway, happy birthday to us and a MASSIVE thank you to every single one of you that has trained with us over the years, supported us through turbulent times and continue to make the place what it is today 🥳

Secondly - Increasingly when new members join they remark that given the lack of social media posting that it isn't really apparent online if we are even open or not. This is entirely my fault I know. (They and are then surprised at how busy the place is once they sign up).

So just to clarify ...

✅️ Yes we are open! (6am > 8.30pm)
✅️ Yes you can join anytime you like
✅️ Yes we will teach you everything you will ever need to know re: lifting things in a safe, progressive and supportive environment
✅️ Yes we will individualise your programming
✅️ Yes we can help you work around/through any specific injury considerations
✅️ Yes personal training is available but its primarily small group orientated
✅️ Yes everyone has their own dedicated training space and full set of equipment
⛔️ No you do not need to have any previous experience
⛔️ No we do not programme any burpees, jumping jacks or impromptu 5k runs
⛔️ No we wont ask you to take part in weekly weigh ins or before / after pics.
⛔️ No we don't expect you to sleep less, eat things you dont enjoy, buy specific clothes or sacrifice your other hobbies to train with us.

So, thats us in a nut shell.

Just a bunch of sound normal people training away having fun 😊

We'll march on now into year 8 now with our unapologetically honest core values still intact and who knows, we might even post something else here this side of 2030 🔥

But probably not 🤣

🎈🍾🎂W E - A R E - F I V E 🎂🍾🎈

Holy crap guys ... Five years ago today we opened our doors!

Now we got promptly told to shut them again by the health & safety people because we didn't have 'adequate air ventilation' to the lobby that didn't actually exist... but we installed that anyway to tick some useless expensive box and fast forward 5 years here we are!

Seems like both a lifetime ago and a blink of an eye that we rolled the dice on the lease, tore the place down, built back up and opened doors. I will never forget taking delivery of all the gym equipment the morning after my own stag weekend. Awful stuff, but hilarious to look back on now.

Anyway dodgey solicitors, the odd bit of flooding, two years of lockdowns, totally miscalculating the building costs and many more mistakes then I care to count couldnt stop us and we continue to go from strength to strength.

I am also delighted that along with welcoming many new faces along the way that we still have plenty of people training with us now who celebrated our first birthday with us back then. That in itself is testament to the amazing community we call our members.

As we continue to grow our mission statement and core values remain the same :

- Hard damn work with a barbell
- A progressive and supportive training environment
- Over delivery on everything at all times
- No reductive or unrealistic nutrition strategeies
- The best people
- Great banter
- and most importantly NO BURPEES, no influencers and no weightlifting gloves 🤣

We will never compromise on any of the above even if at times it probably would have been easier to. There is no fun in taking the easy road.

Anyway thank you to each and every one of you who have supported us along the way and of course who continue to do so now.

I am super proud of our past, enjoying the hell out of the present and couldnt be more excited about the future.

🔥 N E W - C O A C H 🔥

Super excited to welcome to the coaching team at EverStrength!

Her athletic credentials speak for themself - multiple time national champion with the (of which she is also vice-president), represented Ireland on the international stage with , medal winner and all-round bad ass.

Ally joins us now on a career break from primary school teaching to combine her passion for teaching with her interest in strength sports and training and I can't wait to see what her individual experiences, coaches eye and enthusiasm for all things lifting can bring to EverStrength.

Hello & Happy New Years 🥳

It’s Sunday afternoon on what is generally considered to be the most hungover day of the year.

I sincerely hope that you had a great 2022, rang in the new year in style and are not currently hiding in a duvet looking for the paracetamol. Fear not though, I’ve done your recon for you and can say with absolute certainty that Bunsen is open today at 4.30pm for the New Years fix :D

Now, after you’ve patted yourself on the back for surviving the new years day hangover and have had a chance to let the takeaway settle you might start to think ‘Hmmmm… that was fun, but I think I’d feel a bit better after some exercise’.

New Years resolutions get a lot of stick for being a bit cliché and all that – but I’m all for anything that gets people moving and making positive changes so if today is THAT day then so be it. More power to you.

So, if you’re thinking that you’d like to:

🟢 Build a bit of consistency back into your weekly routine
🟢 Get moving again and utilise some of the festive calories for the powers of good
🟢 Add some accountability into your training
🟢 Train somewhere that is never uncomfortably busy, intimidating or cold
🟢 Do all of the above in a laid-back training environment devoid of before & after pictures
🟢 Feel a little more comfortable and confident in general

Well then there is a little place on Bridge St. in Ringsend called EverStrength Fitness that you are probably already familiar with that would love to help you bulletproof your 2023.

You know when you read sponsored ads with stuff like ‘we are looking for ten highly motivated superhuman rockstars who want to lift a million kilos and drop 52 dress sizes for Ibiza next week’?

Yeah, that’s not us.

I am mean look that might resonate with you and if so, great. You should go train in those places. Sweat mindlessly and learn next to nothing...

IF however you are NOT interested in joining a glorified bootcamp well then we have some spots opening up shortly for normal sound people that have enough stress in their lives as it is without being shouted at by teenagers.

New faces and old friends - we're finishing the year strong.

I'm excited to close out 2021 with a return to some good old fashioned block of barbell mechanics.

We've done the unilateral work, we've paused it all, ran every eccentric imaginable and now that we're moving well, know our business and have generally earned it we're going to flip the whole damn thing on its head and start building some hurting bombs.

So get the selection boxes ready, leave your gloves at home, trust that is probably barred from picking the music and get ready for some very long rest periods sitting around between sets talking sh*t

Three short years ago today we opened our doors and never looked back.

I wish I was full of deep reflection and insight but like many I'm still digesting this past 18 months (as well as this cake).

So to all of you who make this place what it is keep being your amazing selves, I am grateful beyond measure for your friendship and support. Just remember the 5 golden rules as we move into year four:

- No burpees
- No Nickleback on spotify
- No weightlifting gloves
- No fitness influencers welcome
- And if you can dodge a kettlebell you can dodge a ball

• C E L E B R A T I N G •

Today we are celebrating an end to our first week back in action with a magnificent pint from our friends next door at The Oarsman!

Its so good to be back around our members having the craic, lifting heavy things and generally enjoying life again after the past 15 months of craziness. I hope the DOMS haven't been too severe and hopefully this marks an end to it all because I cancelled our zoom subscription there a few days ago 😂

Onwards and strongwards!
