All at Cavan RFC extend our deepest condolences to the Soden and Poyntz families following the passing of Robbie Soden, Drumalee, Cavan, and formerly of Innishmore, Butlersbridge.

Robbie’s connection to Cavan RFC is held with great respect. He was the father of our former Club President and Chairperson Janice Poyntz, and grandfather to current youth player Jack Poyntz, son of Rhonda, whose involvement continues the family’s proud association with our club.

We extend our sincere sympathy to Janice, and the entire family at this difficult time.

New players always welcome. Just turn up with boots and a mouthguard! No rugby experience necessary. Under 14s born between 1/07/12-30/06/14 eligible for 14s this year. Season starts with a friendly game v Monaghan at home on Sunday 6th Sept. 💪🏆🏉👍

A great first hit out of the season against Skins last Friday night 🙌

A night for attacks with plenty of defensive work-ons identified for both teams. Well done to visitors Enniskillen Rugby Club on taking home the cup on the day, and best of luck for the season ahead 🏆🫡

Great to see so many familiar and also new faces up to support an enjoyable game of rugby. We hope to see you all again over the coming weeks as our senior men begin their Championship 3 campaign 🔴🔵

Co Cavan RFC was honoured to present a cheque for €9,012.75 to Cuan House – Cavan Cancer Support Centre, raised at this year’s Cyril O’Keeffe Memorial Tag Tournament.

With 18 teams and over 200 players taking part, the tournament was a brilliant celebration of rugby, community, and remembrance

In the end after may great games, Café Mana won the Cup, Wilton Waste (Corranaghure) claimed the Plate, and House of Fabric were the Shield winners.

Presenting the cheque on behalf of Co Cavan RFC and the O’Keeffe family were Sheila O’Keeffe, Jim Tully, and John Tilson, Club President, with the cheque being received by Karl Cronin of Cuan House.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, donated, and supported. Cyril’s legacy continues to bring our community together.
