It's race week!!! Just getting in the last couple of easy runs, to stay limber.
All the hard work is done now. I'd be lying if I said it was easy, there were times when the miles were going up on my long run, when all I wanted to do was stop and turn around and head back home. But then i'd think about my nephew Séimí and how hard he fought. I'd remind myself how privileged I am to be able to get out and run, a privilege that Séimí and so many other children will never have, all because of that fu***ng disease. I'd think about my brother David and his wife Orna, and how strong they have been and it would push me on.
The mission of The Gavin Glynn Foundation is to assist families battling childhood cancer in Ireland with all the logistical and financial aspects of travelling overseas for specialist cancer treatment not available in Ireland.
