On Thursday night instructors from Thumos Krav Maga and Naas Krav Maga came together to deliver our womens self defence seminar.
During the seminar we covered a range of topics from recognising initial threats and trying to defuse the situation, to better positioning ourselves so we can escape safely, as well as the concept of striking for self defence and the importance of our mindset (just to name a few 😅)
We had women of various ages and experience levels on the floor training for the seminar and a superb effort was put in by everyone, a fantastic group to work with!

🚨 Exciting news! 🚨

The instructors from Thumos Krav Maga and Naas Krav Maga are teaming up to host a FREE Women’s Self Defence Seminar this month.

We believe that self-protection and self-defence are life skills that everyone should experience at least once. This seminar is designed to introduce you to what self-defence really means and provide practical skills that could make a real difference.

During the seminar we’ll cover:

• Detection and avoidance – recognising the warning signs of potentially dangerous situations and how to respond.
• Women’s self-defence – understanding the types of violence women are more likely to face and how this differs from general self-defence.
• Practical skills – the fundamentals of striking and what to do if you find yourself in a physical confrontation.
• And much more.

No previous experience is required. This seminar is specifically designed for women of all fitness levels and experience.

📅 Date: Thursday, 27th August
🕗 Time: 8:00pm – 9:30pm
📍 Location: Walkinstown Community Centre (just off the Walkinstown Roundabout)
👥 Who can attend: Women aged 16+.

Self protection and self defence is something we believe everyone should train in at least once in their life,and this seminar is designed to introduce you to what is meant by the term self defence and what exactly it entails.
During this seminar we will focus on a number of topics including:
-Detection and avoidance: recognising the signs of a potentially dangerous situation before it becomes a bigger issue and how to deal with them
-Focusing on the different types of violence and issues that separate women’s self defence from general self defence
-The fundamentals of striking and what to do if you find yourself in a physical confrontation

No previous experience or training is needed, this seminar is specifically designed for women of all levels and experience
When?: August 27th from 20:00-21:30
Where?: Walkinstown community centre, just off the walkinstown roundabout

After another fun week last week training on the use of common objects (in this case looking at using a stick against someone with a knife) as well as more sparring drills with a big focus on footwork and movement,we are back again tonight to keep the pace going and continue to build both our fighting and self defense skills 👊⚔️

The end of another great week of training at Thumos. After last weekends national testing (a big shout out to our own Anto who successfully passed his P2 grading), we started this week off by looking at dealing with knife threats and attacks on the ground (a very dangerous and difficult position to be in),then later in the week we began our block of training on sparring and sparring fundamentals,looking forward to developing these skills and more over the next couple of months 👊⚔️

Another busy week last week for everyone at Thumos, training during the week worked on some clothing grabs and preventions as well as a lot of focus on developing our kicking skills
Then over the weekend we had our KMG Ireland training weekend with Aidan Ahmet from the KMG global team (a big thanks to Aidan for the training over the weekend and to KMG Ireland director Carl Smullen for organising the event)
A great weekend with a big focus on clinch work as well as curriculum updates for instructors and high level students,looking forward to bringing these new skills into classes this week! 👊⚔️
