Celebrate Bike Week 2025 – Let’s Share the Road Safely!
Bike Week 2025 is in full swing, and it's the perfect chance to celebrate all things cycling! Whether you’re a daily cyclist or just thinking of giving it a go, this week is packed with community rides, school events, and fun ways to get involved.
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is reminding everyone that safer roads start with mutual respect. Motorists are asked to slow down and give cyclists enough space—at least 1 metre in low-speed zones and 1.5 metres in higher-speed areas. Simple actions like checking mirrors, blind spots, and taking care at junctions can make a big difference.
Surveys show that many more people would love to cycle if roads felt safer. That’s why this week is about building a stronger, more supportive cycling culture—together.
Cyclists can boost their own safety too by using lights and reflectors, wearing high-vis gear and helmets, and making sure bikes are in good shape. To find out about events in your area please visit https://www.transportforireland.ie/getting-around/by-bicycle/bikeweek/
Let’s all do our part to make cycling safer, more enjoyable, and more accessible for everyone.
