For the last 7 years I have been working in the fitness industry prescribing appropriate workout regimes for individuals of all disciplines from general gym goers to professional athletes using safe, educational, fun and efficient methods so that clients can maximise their chances of reaching their fitness goals. As people only spend on average 4 hours a week in the gym for a week that has 168 hou

rs its not a hole lot of time for the gym all the things associated with it to be on the forefront of peoples minds while trying to juggle work and family life. We aim to help people change their view and mentality training and nutrition for not just their time in the gym but at home and in their workplace. Having more contact time away from the gym via closed Facebook and whats app group chats is a great way to educate, motivate and discuss nutrition and keeping up with peoples day to day eating habits.

This right here, ladies and gentlemen is what we should be aspiring to be. Meet the legend that is Dougie.

He is my longest member and has become a great friend over the years.

He runs on motor oil, or so you'd think if you seen him move around the gym floor.

He completed his first .fit race this year and came second, should have been first but we won't talk about it ๐Ÿ˜‚.

A family man, runner and gym goer (and a bohs ultra ๐Ÿฅฒ) he is so committed to what he does. Unfortunately you cant win this every month Dougie.

Tryka Spring race was fantastic for our first outing as a gym and well organised.

We had afew new memebers trying out their first hybrid race weekend and it won't be their last.

Congrats to everyone who competed over that week and we lock in for July .fit Summer race.

Meet Dylan ๐Ÿซถ

Over the past few months Dyl wants to get back ready for the football season to come.

We set our a simple but effective eating plan and he was very consistent.

Since we start just before Christmas at a starting point of 86kg, he is now 10kg down standing at 76kg.

Today we acknowledge this achievement.

Get to know the faces behind the madness ๐Ÿคช

Afew words from Shane:

Hi guys, I'm Shane, owner and head coach at EPT gym her in Charlestown.
I've been in the business for over 15 years (getting old now ๐Ÿ˜…).
Throughout them, 15 years working with kids and teens has been a staple of my work. From working with youth groups in the area and dublin develop squads to many LOI clubs such as Shamrock rovers and St Pats Athletic and from summer camps to local football clubs.
At present, I'm the youth development coach at Mckelvey Celtic FC working with various teams.

I finally want to bring fitness classes to my local area to kids of many ages to get them leading a healthier lifestyle and introduce them into the gym at the earliest stage.

As the saying goes: "It's easier to build strong kids than it is to fix broken adults." ๐Ÿ˜‚

So we hope to see you all next week we are looking forward to it.

Afew words from Sophie:

Hi everyone, I started in the gym about 10 years ago but it wasnโ€™t until I fell In love with weight training that I got into it properly , that alongside being an ASD mam and seen how much my son struggled with movement that I decided I wanted to become a PT

Qualified 3 years ago and started working in a gym straight away that led me to kids' fitness, and for over the last 2 years Iโ€™ve been teaching kids and focusing on the fundamental movements and making sure the kids are enjoying them selves.
As well as working with kids and teens, I teach Pilates and strength and conditioning classes with adults with EPT and my very own 'The Pilates Hun'
I look forward to seeing all the new faces next week ๐Ÿ˜Š

Starting the end of March, we have devised two age categories for kids training.

2 sessions a week
4 week block only โ‚ฌ40

All age appropriate training.

8-12yo

โ€ข Build strong bodies
โ€ข Increased self-esteem
โ€ข Neuromuscular development (balance and body awareness)
โ€ข Reduces risk of injury
โ€ข Fun from fitness games

13-17yo

โ€ข Introduction into weight training
โ€ข Beginners guide into sports specific training
โ€ข Reduces risk of injury for sports
โ€ข Emphasis on nutrition and how to prepare for a match week and general healthy eating habits

Who is this for?

A child or teen who is already involved in a team or sport who wants to gain a competitive edge.

If your child is looking to get into a gym but can't join a commercial gym, then this is a great starting point with every session coach led by two of our qualified and vetted EPT coaches.

Spaces will be limited to ensure quality remains high each session.
