Warrior Fighting Championship is a K-1 style event that aims to create a format where all striking styles can compete against one another, in a mixed martial arts of striking styles. As such, our shows to date have featured Boxers, Kickboxers, Thai Fighters, and MMA Practitioners all competing against each other under the K-1 format. As such, we have designed our base rule system to be as straight
-forward as possible to accommodate all styles. Strikes to the groin, back of the head, kidneys, and spine are illegal for obvious safety reasons. All other strikes are legal (axe-kick however is under review). Presently, clinch is a maximum of 3 seconds of activity. And no activity means immediate break. In the first phase of judges scoring, all scoring strikes (meaning clean strikes to legal target area) are scored equally. So for example, a leg kick scores equally with a head punch. If judges are unable to separate fighters on strikes scored, a second criteria becomes active and is judged on difficult techniques. So for example, a kick or knee to the head would score higher than a kick or knee to the leg. If again the fighters can't be separated a third criteria becomes active and is based on aggression and work-rate. Blocked strikes are not scored. Sweeps are legal, but not scored. A 10-point must system is used, and the cumulative 3 knock-down rule is in effect. Also, because of the obvious problems with people in different parts of the country making it up to Dublin two days in a row for day-before weigh-ins, video weigh-ins will be allowed when needed. However, because of the obvious drawbacks in using video weigh-ins re cheating and fighter safety, stringent rules will apply. At the designated time, fighters will say the appropriate password. A clearly marked weight will then be weighed on the scales to show that it is calibrated correctly. The fighter will then weigh in. All weigh-in videos will be made public on the C-Mac MMA and Warrior FC pages for scrutiny by coaches, officials and opponents. Contact C-Mac Mma or Tomas Satas for any further information, or if you are interested in competing on our show.
