Cumann Uí Néill Tulach Óg is a hurling and camogie club from County Tyrone. The club was formed in 2016 and serves the wider Cookstown area.

Tyrone Camogie Go Games August 2026

Our u8s and u10s camogs took part in a great morning of camogie go games this weekend hosted by NCC.

Despite the very wet weather, the girls displayed determination, skill and team work. It is lovely to see the girls who come from different schools in the Cookstown area not only developing skills but also friendships through camogie.

Thank you to Naomh Columcille GAC for hosting a super morning of camogie.

On a low hill in County Tyrone, ringed with old trees, the kings of Ulster were made. The place is Tullaghoge, Tulach Og, the hill of the young warriors, and for four hundred years no O'Neill was a legitimate chief until he had been inaugurated there.

The ceremony was not a coronation and there was no crown. The candidate was seated on a stone chair, and the O'Hagans, hereditary keepers of the site, placed a single shoe on his foot. It was a plain symbol of following in the steps of those who came before him, and it was done in the open air in front of the assembled lords of the north.

Hugh O'Neill, the last great earl of Tyrone, was inaugurated there in 1593. In 1602 the English commander Lord Mountjoy marched to the hill and broke the inauguration stone to pieces with hammers. He understood exactly what he was doing, and within five years the earls had left Ireland for good.

A Special First for Tulach Óg ❤️🤍

There are some moments in a club that feel a little more special than others, and this was definitely one of them.

As we celebrate our 10th year, it means so much to see our club field its first ever Minor Camogie team following on from our first ever Minor Hurling team last year.

These girls have been on a journey together for the past few years. They’ve trained hard, learned together, supported one another and, most importantly, stuck together through the tough days as well as the good ones.

There have been difficult games, frustrating days and plenty of challenges along the way, but they kept showing up, kept working and kept believing in each other. That togetherness is something really special.

To see them now step onto the pitch as our first Minor team, representing the club, is something we can all be incredibly proud of.

It’s not just about the wins or the results. It’s about the friendships, the memories, the resilience and the journey these girls have shared together as a team.

Some of these girls have been with the club since the very start and it’s been a pleasure to see them grow into young women who have made our club proud over the years. Girls have come and gone but this little team keeps showing up and giving their all something their coaches and parents are proud of.

Our first Minor Camogie team, in our 10th year — a pretty special milestone.❤️

Well done girls. Keep going, keep believing in each other and enjoy every minute of it.

Busy week for Tulach Óg this week with Camogie and hurling.
Last night was the turn of the u14 hurlers at home to Fintona.
The boys worked well together as a team to come away with the win. Great work lads and management 🔴⚪️

Training for U6s continues next Wednesday at 6.30pm at Mid Ulster Sports Arena 🔴⚪️

Our u14 Camógs were in action again tonight in the league against Edendork. A great competitive game of Camogie by both teams with lots of skills on display. Tulach Óg coming away with the win at the final whistle. Well done girls 🔴⚪️
