Your CV tells a story - but is it really yours?

I was at the Jobs Expo Ireland Career Fair in Limerick last weekend - with a spectacular view of Thomond Stadium! 🏟️✨

After my talk on Imposter Syndrome and building confidence, I spent the day reviewing CVs from graduates to senior professionals.

Here’s what really stood out 👇

💡 Many CVs show what you did, but now how well you did it. Impact matters.

💡 Focus on the roles you want - say more with less and keep it clean for scanning.

💡 Imposter feelings sneak in - your CV is your chance to shine.

💡 Careers aren’t linear. Gaps happen. Tell your story and own it.

💡 And please - let you shine through, not AI. ChatGPT can help, but don’t let it replace your voice.

💚 World Mental Health Day reminder 💚

Over 70% of employees worldwide feel disengaged at work — and that disconnection doesn’t stay in the office; it follows us home.

Through my work with clients, I see how easy it is to lose joy and direction when we run on autopilot for too long.

One small but powerful shift?

👉 Stop expecting work to give you everything.

Even with all the benefits and wellbeing programs, we often forget the simplest one: our own time.

Where is your me-time and me-space in the week?

Because health is your wealth - and that includes both body and mind. 🌿

P.S. With work and life responsibilities, there can be so many things to juggle — but often the smallest change creates the biggest space.

For me, that might be a 6:30 a.m. spinning class while everyone’s still asleep - my “me time.”
Or taking the bus instead of the car, just so I can sit, do absolutely nothing, and enjoy the view. 💫

Ever have that feeling where you're just... torn about what to do next in your career? 🤔

Part of you is scrolling through job boards, dreaming about that bigger role, that more passionate path.

And the other part of you is immediately piping up:
"But what if it's worse?"
"But what if you're not actually good enough?"
"But it's comfortable here..."

Here’s the way I like to think about it that might help you, too:

That first part - the dreamer, the feeler, the one that gets excited? That’s your Right Brain. It’s your inner visionary. It’s all about possibility.

That second part - the worrier, the logical, the "yeah-but"-er? That’s your Left Brain. It’s your inner risk-manager. It’s just trying to protect you.

And you? You're not either of those voices.

You are the one hearing both of them.

You're the wise, calm leader in the middle who gets to listen to both sides—the hopes and the fears—and then decide what to do.

So if you've been feeling stuck or confused, give yourself a little grace. It doesn't mean you're lost. It just means both your dreamer and your protector are showing up to the meeting.

Your job isn’t to fire one of them. It’s to thank them both for their input... and then trust yourself to choose.

That "I hate my job" feeling? It's usually about something deeper than just a bad boss or long hours.

𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥. Is it because:

You feel like you can't be yourself at work?
Your best skills are being ignored while you do stuff you don't enjoy?
Your core values are being compromised just to get a paycheck?
You're missing something important - like purpose, growth, or freedom or something else?

That "hate" isn't random. It's your gut telling you something is wrong. That who you are and what you're doing don't match up.

This isn't about finding a better job. It's about finding work that lets you be you.
