St.Francis FC

St.Francis FC St Francis F.C. is a football club from Dublin, Ireland. Founded in The Liberties, St. Francis curre Our club colours are green and white hooped shirts.

Francis currently play in John Hyland Park Baldonnel, close to Clondalkin, a suburb in west Dublin. We played in the League of Ireland from the 1996/97 season until the end of the 2000/01 season. We currently play in the Leinster Senior League and operate a number of schoolboy and women's teams. St Francis was founded by John Hyland and friends in 1958 initially as a schoolboy club. In 1968, the f

irst adult side was introduced as St Francis joined the Athletic Union League, winning division 2A in their first season. In their second season St Francis won the FAI Junior Cup, the highest honour for junior sides in Ireland. The club progressed into the intermediate ranks and soon become one of the top teams at that grade, winning the Leinster Senior League 1989. The following year St Francis became the first non league side to reach the FAI Cup Final in over 50 years before finally losing to Bray Wanderers. Their fairytale story, combined with the final moving to Lansdowne Road saw a crowd of over 33,000 witness the historic final. We continue to be one of the top non league sides in the country.

Yesterday's trip to Mayo didn't go the way we had hoped, as we fell to a 1-0 defeat. But it's only day one of a long journey and the lads know what they're capable of. We go again in two weeks time, at home to Letterkenny Rovers.

TOURNAMENT WINNERS!!

Congratulations to our U10.5 team for winning the Cambridge Cup yesterday. The team were fantastic all day, going unbeaten in the tournament. Absolutely brilliant and well done to Leo Dunne for picking up player of the tournament 👏👏

THE EVE OF A NEW ERA

Tomorrow, St Francis take to the pitch for the very first time in the brand new FAI National League - a competition we've been chosen to help build from day one, as one of just 15 founding clubs in the country.

We've been part of grassroots football since 1958. We've had our highs, we've had our tougher years, but through it all, this badge has never stopped meaning something. Tomorrow, we write the next chapter of that story.

Mayo FC. Umbro Park. 17:00. We will see you all there!!
