Southside Fitness Circuit/Fitness/Strength Training Classes, Knocklyon C. Centre Participants will need their own mat and resistance bands from time to time.

Circuit Training and Classes include Aerobic, Anaerobic and Resistance 'exercise stations of which there could be between 8 and 10, depending on the time available, and the amount of participants involved. Classes start with a 7 minute warm up and finish with 10 minutes approx of body conditioning and stretching in the Tuesday and Saturday morning class, and the Thursday evening;s class format ca

n vary from week to week, with more emphasis sometimes, on aerobic/anaerobic exercises, and calisthenics/body weight exercises.

Three Sunday morning training runs, and Two IMRA races.

Bumped into Waterville 2 stage Ultra 2nd Female Charlotte, with Katie and Donal, on our Sugarloaf to Powerscourt Ridge Sunday run.

Glendalough, Prince Williams Seat Sunday run, and Fernhill Sunday run.

Two IMRA races; SugarBowl and Keedean.

A lot of lovely runs and races in the last 5 weeks

Top 20% of all age categories for overall fitness, (strength and cardiovascular fitness), in Ireland.

Well done all 💪

Thursday is a Coach Led class from 7-8pm.
Monday is a 9 station circuit class from 6.45pm to 7.45pm, (go at your own pace/level for all classes).
Saturday morning is a 70/30 strength/cardio 6 station class from 9.30am to 10.30am.

All run in Knocklyon C.Centre

Latest Southside Fitness News 12-5-26

Whether doing some Circuit Training, cycling, swimming, running, etc, weekly consistancy is key to overall Fitness and Health benefits.

Already for 2026 we have Seven SSF participants,
with less than 10 classes away from the Annual '50 classes' mark this year, and soon to be the first to recieve the new Southside Fitness 'Milestone' Training Tee.
And another Eight, with less 20 classes away from the '50 class' Mark.

Well done to the Four Southside Fittness Reps, who took part in the Waterville Trail Running Festival on May 2nd and 3rd 2026. Catherine, Anne Marie, Malika in the 26km race, and Dave in the 2 day Ultra race
All Four completed their Events 👏👏✊✊

We had the second Female, Malika, Home in the 26km race.

And Dave finished in 8th place overall in 8 hours 19 minutes, for the 2 Day Ultra 70km (26 on Saturday morning, and 44km on Sunday morning)

A Typical Southside Fitness Week of Training, and some Sunday Morning Southside Fitness Mountain Running Images from the last couple of weeks.

Monday Circuit Training from 6.45pm,

Wednesday Lunchtime from 12.35pm
70/30 Strength/Cardio.

Thursday, 'you never know what to expect'.

Saturday Morning from 9.30am, 60/40 Strength/Cardio.

15 Year Anniversary of the Southside Fitness Years, Unbroken, even through Covid.

Established April 11th 2011.

Well done to all, some still training for many years; 15, 14, 10, 5, 3, etc, and another new block of participants in the last few years.

We're keeping it going.👏

HYROX. MECHELEN, Belgium Thursday 26-3-26

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

18,000 participants over the 4 days, for the last of the 2025/2026 Hyrox Season.

The Southside Fitness Mixed Doubles Team was 950th overall out of the 1700 in the Mixed Doubles Category on Thursday.

Two of the 14 oldest in the Thursday event.

And an Age Category 3rd Place, and Hyrox Flag Winner.
The Second Southside Fitness Hyrox Podium win in six Months.

The Southside Fitness Team were back in Dublin on Saturday, so they missed the Podium Presentations on Saturday Evening, however the Hyrox Winners Flags, were collected and brought to Dublin by a Friend.

Southside Fitness Mountain Runners, and Hard core Circuit Class participants.

Thursday'c class, 19th of March (Accuracy, Power and Pace) and Casual Mountain Run, 22nd of March.

Two Southside Fitness Reps heading to Belguim on Wed next, for the mixed doubles, and one of the last 2025/2026 events of the series.

First IMRA Race in 5 months.
We had three involved. Catherine Rebecca, Dave, and our Louth friends, Ronan and Darren on duty, and our Bettystown friend, Keelin, racing.

As usual, the 22km Wicklow Half was full of hardcore mountain runners, and all flat out from start to finish, with positions chopping and changing, depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the runners.

A tough and exilerating race from start to finish.

And I'd say there'll be a good few DNF'S.
I witnessed two bad injuries.

Results not out yet, but well done all 💪

I expect we'll have a couple of top 2 Age Category positions, if not better, and maybe 1 top 3.

The First Southside Fitness Event in it's 15 years of existence, (Estd in April 2011)

Mini Hyrox event: 6 exercises, 6 x 400m runs, with Hyrox rules and distances.

14 in-house Doubles Teams, 14 Referrees, 6 helping with catering, and many helpers in setting up and taking down.

It couldn't have happened without them.

WOMENS DOUBLES TOP THREE WINNERS:
1. Ciara and Helena @ 29.49.
2. Jean and Jenny @ 32.11
3. Suzanne and Catherine @ 32.40

MENS/MIXED DOUBLES TOP THREE WINNERS:
1. Cormac and Dermot @ 27.28
2. Joint second place. Eamonn and Mick @ 31.46 and Cathal and Rebecca @ 31.46.

Well done all 👏👏

A Great Success by all accounts.

Definitely another event on the cards before the Summer is out.
