Another fantastic KBI National Team squad session in the books at KKC Phibsborough! 🥊🇮🇪
It was a brilliant day of training for our Cadet, Junior, and Senior Light Contact (LC) and Kick Light (KL) fighters. Huge thanks to all the athletes and coaches who brought maximum energy to the mats.
With just 4 weeks to go until the Youth World Championships in Italy, it was crucial for our cadets and juniors to get those vital rounds in. Our seniors were also out in force, sharpening their skills as they gear up for the Senior European Championships in Montenegro this November!
A special shoutout and big thank you to World Champion Kickboxer Sinead Lee (Beasley) for leading a top-tier Strength & Conditioning session. An unbelievable martial artist and S&C coach, Sinead has represented Ireland with immense honor for years—we’re so grateful for her expertise! 🏋️‍♀️💪
We also want to wish a very Happy Birthday 🥳 to our amazing KBI Team Manager, Vida! Vida gives up so much of her time for Kickboxing Ireland, and we hope she gets to enjoy a well-deserved celebration today! 🎂🎉
Finally, a massive thank you to KKC Chief Instructor and Coach Nicholas Duffy for providing us with a world-class facility. After KKC’s original home on Bannow Road was sadly lost to housing development, Nico built an incredible space in Phibsborough. With over 40 years of teaching, coaching, and producing National, European, and World Champions, his dedication to Irish martial arts is unmatched. 🥋🙌

Another great KBI National Team squad session and training day in the books! 🥊🇮🇪
As National Team Coach for Kick Light (KL) and Light Contact (LC), it’s always a privilege to work alongside such dedicated athletes. We had a massive turnout in Newry, Northern Ireland, bringing together clubs, coaches, and competitors from both Northern and Southern Ireland under one roof.
We covered all disciplines across the board:
Tatami Sports: Younger Cadets Points Fighting (PF), Older Cadets, Junior & Senior PF, LC, and KL.
Ring Sports: Younger Juniors, Older Juniors, and Seniors across Full Contact (FC), Low Kick (LK), and K1.
Massive thanks to every club, coach, and fighter who traveled and made this session such a huge success. The hard work and energy on the mats were top level! 💪🔥

We’re delighted to invite all Kickboxing Ireland members to our Open Training Day on Saturday, 15th August 2026 at Ballyholland Community Centre, Bettys Hill Road, Newry (BT34 2LY).

The training day runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm and is free to attend. It will be led by our National Coaches, Martin Bannon, Robert Cassells, Darren Doherty, and Damien Darker, with sessions designed to help members of all levels develop their skills.

Whether you’re preparing for competition or simply looking to improve your technique and train with members from clubs across Ireland, we encourage everyone to come along.
